FOC Revo Update for 2.0 TFSI

Getting mine done next Thursday. Was also hoping that someone would be able to provide feedback before I change over :D

Doesn't feel as raw as before, but torque through gears is better.... That's how it was explained to me.
im not getting mine done until I hear a bit more.

Got mine booked in at Revo HQ in a few weeks :)

I must be getting out of touch since I've been tinkering with my weekend toy - Honda S2000.

Whats an FMIC ?

Cheers for that. I feel really silly now and my family think I speak gobble de gook. About 10 mins after posting this we were all driving along when I shoued out " Front mounted Intercooler !!!".

Think the brain is slowing up in my middle age :)

Well I called Revo yesterday and had the update applied by them this morning. I also had the linear throttle thingy done also. Whilst I haven't had time to have a decent play in it, there is a difference! Mid range is definitely improved - in a word "meatier" :yum: if it makes sense. I opted for the "9" setting.

One thing I have to say, Revo get 10/10 for customer service. A friendly bunch and no hassle in fitting me in at short notice, talked through everything that they were going to be doing. Top stuff.

Sounds Awesome, hows's the linear throttle? Are you Stronic or Manual?

Getting mine do at Revo HQ ad well, might get a before/after dyne run done as well :)

Manual gearbox.

As I said - it will take a bit of blasting around to get an understanding of the linear throttle changes. One thing I do know is that part throttle drive-ability is unchanged. The one simple thing I demand from an engine is big fat torque from the get go and this definitely has it in spades. I did notice the tyres were scrabbling for grip a few times which is new (and good)..

Was supposed to have mine done tomorrow, but the local Revo guys have delayed it citing some issues with the timing that need to be sorted out for the South African climate/fuel.

Oh well, not a problem since I'm happy with my current map :)

Interesting! a few more like this and I'll go get the update myself....

Having mine done Monday morning at HQ.

Might get them to do 2+ whilst it's there. All the bits are available so it is an option.

If I do I'll let you know what it's like. Been without it 6 months (since last one was put back to standard and sold), and oh how I miss it. Match made in heaven the 2.0T and 2+!

What with warranty If I take it for a service? Will they put down any advisory in paperwork and invalid the warranty because of that? Really tempted but cant imagine me changing everything back to stock every 7 months:/

Depends where you take it. Some get very sniffy and awkward, others just take your money and keep quiet unless a warranty claim turns up.

What makes me pretty ****** is I pay these people's wages by buying new cars and getting it serviced at Audi and then they talk to you as if your a 16 year old child. If Audi had embraced the 21st century they'd offer performance packs like other manufacturers and their customers wouldn't be out on a limb.

Mine is just out of warranty, but I never had problems with Audi with mods from week 2. Granted, I didn't have many problems but Audi wanted to know what I'd done and loved the mods.

The thing with Audi is they want to up-sell to superior spec/pricier models. There is 'S' and 'RS' models for most of their range.
It would be harder to sell an RS3 if they offered a 350hp upgrade pack off the shelf for the S3.

Their argument would probably be that the S3 chassis (brakes, suspension etc) is not up to the task
of providing a reliable and use-able 350HP (and is not designed to) compared to what the RS3 can offer in that department.

Same would go for the A3s of course and other models in their range. A4>S4>RS4 etc
