Hello my Audi pals

I have a question I am hoping someone can answer quite easily
i have a 2009 a3 sline 2.0 TDI ( cr )
Today I took a look at the oil and it's fine leave wise but it's really black IMO
acording to my car it needs changing in another 4k but the colour is making me want to change it. Am I just being paranoid ?
Acording to the service book when I picked it up the oil was changed and I have done 5k since then.
Heres some pics that may help.

but when you have it changed drive home then look
it will be black again

Spot on ! Oil in a diesel engine goes black almost immediately ! Doesn't mean it's knackered !
Oh rite it's just my gf's copper is always golden even just before a service ( it dose use a lot of oil tho)
Is there a way to check if oil it ok On a derv?

My mate, changed his oil twice in one week (wrong oil) and the fresh oil that was taken out was black after 300 miles of driving!

It's just the way diesels are

Hi everyone
his year model could have one of two style motors. If it is the later style the filter will be under the cover at the back of the motor on the top of the engine. It's a black plastic cover that you simply "pop" up. It is a cartridge type filter and goes in the black plastic housing with the large hex on top. I suggest you first loosen the hex to a point where you just see the O-ring. This provides a "vent" for the oil to drain out of the housing. Then drain the crankcase sump, and replace the drain plug. Let the vehicle down and replace the filter.
