Some of you may remember me from a few years ago (had a black S3 2001Y) not that it matters, but if you do say hi :)

Anyway, If all goes to plan I will be picking up a 2 hand B8 A4 Avant 2.0Tdi 143 S Line Executive in around a weeks time.
The car has done 56000 miles and is just past 3 years old.

So being the geek I am I wanted to get a feel for the B8 forum and say hi :)

1. Being a multiple VAG owner my only concern I have is the Cam Belt, dealer says it is 80k for this car but I am assuming that there must be a "year" interval for this as well, anyone know this for sure?

2. I have an idea what the Executive gives, as in Bluetooth, Alcantara, Symphony (is that BOSE) & Cruise, that right?

3. I am seeing the car on Sat, but the pics look like it has Xenons with LEDs, is that a standard part of the S Line spec?

Think that about covers it other than things to look out for, without putting me off too much LOL

Welcome back to audi-sport.net. Have a look down at the vents section, there is a sub section nmed wales, add your name to the list. If you are into meets/events you will find out in there whats near you. Enjoy. ) x

1. Sorry dont know about cam belt.

2. You are spot on with executive upgrade spec. The symphony head unit is a 6 CD player, you load up 6 cds into the head unit slot.

3. Xenons came as standard on the S Line with the LED daytime running lights. The xenons come with self levelling and washer jets.

The executive pack was bluetooth ( phone cradle adaptor in armrest to use external aerial and charge, voice activated phone controls) alcantara, symphony 6 cd changer with sd slot and cruise control. The optional sound system is bang and olufson. The xenons are standard on slines

As Johhny says no Bose, B&O is not standard, the symphony is a 6disc MP3 player.Cambelt shows in my service book 114K miles ,not sure i would leave it than long though!!
I have never used the craddle just use phone through bluetooth but if you do want to use the cradle you have to buy the correct adaptor for your phone which is pricey, dont really see the point of splashing out for one when you can use BT and there is a 12v slot under the armrest so i just use a charger in it if i need to charge phone whilst on a journey. Also i love the half leather alcantara very nice.I also have options of rear parking sensors and AMI,the AMI is good but not essential as you have SD slot and 6disc MP3 which i never use but guess i would if i didnt have the ipod dock more than enough options for musin within the car just wish i had B&O because the standard speakers are ****.

Cheers guys, great info :)

yeah had the Bluetooth in the ST so wont bother using the cradle option, also glad it has MP3 and has SD slot if it does not have the Ipod connection.

114k does sound high, normally a "year" as well, so like "80k miles or 4 years" guess I will be ok either way for a while as it is 3 years old with 56000, but will get Audi to check the engine code out for me and get a proper answer as 4 years would make me feel a lot better :)

Wish it had the rear sensors but Audi can fit them for a price so may look into that as said.

Will let ya know how it goes tomorrow with the final viewing and fingers crossed it will be mine next Sat :)

I think it will be 8 years. Usually serving is 2 year or 20,000 miles easy to work it out from there.

True, the cradle can be expensive, but can be found on ebay.I like using it as it gives be an extra signal bar or two.But im always leaving it in the car cos i forget where it is.But then again im a dumb ****.Ive found that i prefer to use a good quality fast sd card as my ipod touch is so ****** slow at searching tracks where the card is instant.I have a 32gb hcsd cardin mine at the moment.B+O is quite nice, but over rated. The sub in the boot of my avant is pretty weak and the syste relies on excellent recordings to excel...so you aint missing much.

Audi only fit the aftermarket reverse wire type mate, they dont fit the integrated system version, but they can be fitted, let me know if interested after you got your car of course & we can discuss it further :)

Aftermarket is fine, but then I can find a local installer for those £189 colour coded and fitted, you do that I take it :)

I only do oem tbh mate as I find the aftermarket systems lacking.

Ignore the manual and phone Audi. My book says 115k, Audi say 60k or 5yrs. Local Indie agrees with this.

Yours is a petrol though ain't it, or is that just for comparison?
They are checking for me but I think the b8 143 engine is more than 60k

Just checked with Cardiff Audi and they said 75000 miles or 5 years :)
By the way all being good I pick her up on Wednesday :)

Well picked her up yesterday, she is in Audi today having a new center vent fitted as handle came off and the water bottle is leaking all the washer fluid out of the floor tray in front of the wheel arch passenger side, I guess after using the headlight washers LOL (all under warranty of course)

Over the moon with the car and already gave it a polish as the pearl paint looked flat (never been polished I bet) so here are a couple of pics taken with my iPhone, once I have time I will take some with my SLR.
