2,000 MILE UPDATE
Finally nailed 2,000 miles with Revo Stage 1 in place (3,700 miles on the car).
The car is now back with Revo and there have been no faults with the car at all. No misfires, no hesitations, nothing other than what you'd expect from a remapped car. I've tried the boost at 6,7,8 and 9 and there have been no negative side effects on any of the settings.
Fuel economy (mix of 40% around town 60% motorway driving) has weighed in at 28.1mpg over the 2,000 miles but I have to say it could have been so much more if I'dd been a touch more restrained. I've not really run the car hard as I just don't tend to anymore, but I set out on a mission to use this as a test exercise and as far as I can tell it's as good as can be expected.
To conclude this trial (and get an independent perspective as to how things are running), I've now dropped the car off with Revo and they will now run the car for a few days to check that it is running as should be expected according to logs settings rather than my personal assumptions! It's all very well me guessing things are OK, butI've never been able to do any data logging on my own.
I would like to add for the record that very recently I've taken one of our forum members out in the car for a test run so I've got a non Revo independent view, and whilst it gave him the opportunity to see what Revo code was like, it gives me another independent qualification that the car is going like stink should I be challenged that the only people who have been involved in this are me / Revo.
The forum member was Matt (Red Deja Vu), and I'm more than happy for him to post his viewpoint here as to whether he thought the car felt OK / was running properly / has any criticisms of the way the car behaved etc.
I believe that is pretty much all I can do, and should there be any further findings from Revo I will post them here.
In the meantime, so that all you limey b@st@rds can get the info I will be driving this:
Actually I can't moan, it's loaded, and the TDi fuel gauge didn't move between Northants and Berkshire (the S3 gauge moves in 20 miles if I'm lucky, 11 if I'm trying!). The mapped S4 has a stone through the rad so wasn't on offer :sign_unfair:
