Hi,

Has anyone got any pics of a silver a3 with gloss black vinyl wrapped roof?

I am considering getting this done along with window tints, is the vinyl easy to remove in future? as window tint is a pig to get off!

also has anyone got any bad points with this e.g washing the car? does it scratch and swirl?

thanks

Forgot to add... what is the rough price of a wrapped roof?

Plastidip it. (spray on)

Its jetwashable so can keep it clean, and when you want it off, it will peel off nicely.

I was thinking about plastidip but i havent seen it done in gloss? also I can get a wrap done for mates rates

:icon_thumright: there is a glossifier but it makes it a little more difficult to get off.

Hi,

I had my Roof, Roof Spoiler, Front & Rear Valances wrapped in gloss black about 4 months ago. I paid £180 cash for the whole lot with a 10 year guarantee, which was a good price considering some places were quoting upto £360!!!

I was advised to treat it the same as paint, it will scratch & will swirl! However, they do seem to polish out. The only thing I was advised to avoid was attacking the edges with a pressure washer because it will lift the wrapp, apart from that treat it the same as the rest of the car.

Where in Devon are you?
I got the kit to spray plasti dip.
I just done the misses 206 rub strips.
I'm hoping the weather stays dry enough for me to do my roof before AITP.

The Matte white m3 looks pretty good to me. Is the plasti dip pro kit available in uk? All the prices are in $
You can't get the kits in the uk but you can get the paint sprayer they use.
Its a Wagner 665.

There has been several threads about this already.

Scottb5 im about 70 miles away from plymouth, however i dont see the true benifits of plastidip?, if i got to spray the roof with plastidip i may aswell take it to spray shop? IMO, cheers.

The benefits as I see them is that you don't need any prep work to the surface, It's none permanent, peels off when you're finished, easier to apply than wrap, cheaper than wrap and spraying.

If you're ever in Plymouth or passing. Pop in and I'll show you the pug or other bits I've done.

Got a hand full of other bits coming as well.
Send me something and I'll do a sample for you.
