BMW easy theft -- are Audi's at risk ?

The net is full of stories of how easy it is to steal some late model BMW's and program new keys via the OBD port .

Does this affect Audi late models as well ? Is it worth hiding the diagnostic socket or even fitting after market alarms ?

No I don't think so!!
It is not all new BMW's it is limited to only a couple of the series!!

It is to do with the communication between the key and the car, if you know what your doing then the signal can be jammed so it looks like you have locked the car but the car remains open then there is a back door in the communcarions port to allow you to code in another key ...

I understand the BMW are working to fix the software issue with the key coding to lock this down but from what I have been told there is not a lot they can do with the way the key communicates with the car!!
