My new S3 Black Edition - Brilliant black

Thanks for all the comments guys! Really nice to see such friendly people on here, such a nice change...!
The excellent news is that the insurers for the petrol company accepted liability and I have had the bonnet repaired by Audi! Now I need my fellow 8People to help me out here... Who can recommend a trusted, competitive detailer in the South East London/West Kent/East Sussex areas for a full correction/protection detail on the outside and who can help me keep on top of the car looking pristine?
All suggestions welcome!
Cheers
batch
hey batch.. loving the car, mate - looking mean! anyway regarding the detail.. give these guys a look..Ultimate Detailing Studio™ the Gtechniq C1 protection stuff is awesome.. and they'll go as far as you want in terms of what you want done.. I'm seriously considering driving up to have my new car protection detailed when it arrives:think:

No worries, looking forward to seeing what developments occur with yours.
Thanks Rich! Not sure I have many plans at the moment really, it's on a PCP so got to be careful...!
I don't suppose it was you who followed me from Bromley Common earlier was it?!

So, last Monday I popped down to see Rob Tomlin at Supercar Detailing after recommendations from L1ARR and quattro81 above. Rob was great - having a good look round the car, talking me through all the different options and showing me what products he'd use depending on what I went for. As I am unavailable for the next couple of weeks, I just went for a wash, polish and wax for now and will return to him asap for the full works!
After a couple of weeks of pants weather and no attention (I've been flat out!), the car definitely looked well for a bit of TLC...

Excuse the poor iPhone pics, I rarely take my camera out unless it's a Rugby match, concert or holiday!

Now THIS isn't something you see every day...!

Now a quick bit of advice/reassurance is required - Can another S3 owner look at the two pics below and tell me whether those figures look about right for a mix of cross-country blats, commuting and fast road bimbling? They were taken a few weeks ago now and I do seem to be getting slightly better mileage but I think that's more down to me learning how to drive it than the engine settling into a routine?!

As a quick footnote, I worked out I was getting about 265-275 miles per tank, based purely on zeroing the trip computer then running the tank down right into the red... Is this OK or am I either driving a duff motor or driving like a nob?!!!

Wow great job that batch ,cars looking lovely as per usual.:)

Thanks Kel! VEERY tempted by a certain RS3 grille that's just come up for sale but I'd be being very naughty if I splashed out, I have other important things to pay for! Hmmmmm....

Rs3 grill will set it off nicely or you could have s3 buckets,or both..

Do you know if black RS3 grilles are available or just the alu ones?
No buckets for me, the brand new S3 seats are mint and very cosy!

Hi
Great car.
Just place an order for a A3 sportback BE in Glacier White , with a delivery date of end of September.
Did think about black but bottled it and went for metalic white instead.
Have a look here Car Detailing How To Information , well worth reading.
If you are going to buy products etc have a look at the range from DoDo Juice here Dodo Juice - Home of handmade car care..
Excellent products.
Regards
Steve

Difficult question as it depends on distance etc but on a drive as you describe I see about 23-24 although if I go out just to do a 30 min back road blast I see 17-20!!!!! I think your figs are normal if there isnt any "cruising" in there and it's all flat ut or stop start?

Town driving just kills my S3 3D BE. Thankfully my daily commute involves a 8 mile stretch of dual carriageway, so that brings it up to 29 mpg :)

And so it begins...

Also, a little bit of nostalgia - the guy who bought my old VR6 last weekend took it to PREPT @ Brands Hatch last week, untouched except for a scrub, and got snapped for the website!

N8 - It's gone in with Rob Tomlin of Supercar Detailing.

Cruiser - The full works mate! It is kind of in need oof something in between a new car protection, correction and enhancement detail. Carb wait to see the results!

Really can't sing Rob's praises enough. He did an amazing job, looks stunning! Turns heads everywhere which for a standard black S3 is pretty cool!

Wow that's a great job, mine looks like it's been cleaned with a brillo pad by comparison!

OMFG! That is just beautiful!!!!
wow

Is that some sort of custom paint job? That can't just be a car that's been cleaned!
How much did it set you back? Send me the details in a pm if you don't want to post here, thanks :friends:
