The "Rimz" Thread ** Look here before requesting pics of specific wheels**

Thanks for the replies - much appreciated! Ya they are pretty rank alright now that I've sobered up today lol.

Not a fan. Look at more OEM wheels bbs speedlines, vw helios, bbs ch/ck/chr etc etc. look in this thread lol you will find loads!!!

This is my problem...been through this thread so many times and while the bbs are ok I'm not mad about them. Don't like the vw helios at all. The selection over here (Ireland) is not as good as you guys have in the UK. Looking on-line, the shipping costs to Ireland are massive in some cases, as they can only ship by courier.
MTM's are No.1 on the list as soon as I can track them down. I dont mind spending the money just want to be sure I'll be 100% happy with what I get.

i know you just got bentley but i think you should go with some gloss black recaro luganos, 19 sexy no spacers required, your car always was my cars darker twin :)

 it is the your cars darker twin. The only alloys that will be replacing the bentleys are 19" bbs speedlines, 5spoke bentlley GTC or some 18s i have my eyes on

Best place to look for alloys would be ebay, edition 38, wheelwhores and pistonheads. Yeah probably best waiting till you find a set you really want. I do like the MTMs as well. I made the mistake and bought alloys i liked but knew i wouldnt want long term and ended up changing them 6times last year:laugh:

They are B&O ones, pretty epic show off ones at that, they pop out of the dash and hide again when not in use. There is a video of them on the home page.

Any DIY guides out there?

dont think so must jsut be powered from the old pillar tweeters, they are hens teeth though

Martin thats air'd out, deffo not static.

215/35/28 on a 8.5j wheel is perfect.
Its Static Timmy, it belongs to one of the guys off of flachwerk, if u go into "ah-exclusive parts" and have a look you will get all pics of this car, I love it, it has been about for a few years,
it's on H&R ultra low (extra deeps -120mm) with pulled arches and must have been Chassis notched :)
All of those guys run there cars on coils and RIDICULOSLY low :)

Quick bit of advice guys. I've an Audi A3, by all accounts i've read recommended off set of 45.

I've got my eye on some wheels that have an offset of 35, am I right in thinking I can get a spacer for each axle to sort this out?

Thanks in advance
Matt

a spacer will only push the wheel out further and make that offset number lower. you need a set of alloys that have an offset of 40-57 otherwise its a lot of work to get them to loom decent

Aaah so its the other way round... Great :sorry:

So i should completely forget about the set i had my eye, looked a bargain aswell!

anyone know what the rs3 wheels are called and if there the same as the new a4 style as i can get a set of a4 wheels that look the same as rs3's but they need to go on a 2004 a3 tdi
cheers

There are many different variants of the rotors. The new B8 A4 tend to be 19x8.5 ET43, I recommend a 215/225 tyre depending on what ride height you want and you'll be fine.

nice 1 fella i might post some pics b4 i spend the money on wheels that dont fit or is it the tyre thats to big for the arch
cheers

Will These fit my 57 plate A3 Sport 3 door
5x112 PCD = Check
Front - 8.5j
Rear 9.5j
ET - 35?
18"

Will they fit? What tyres do i need? And will it be okay on eibach sportlines?

Reading further up ET 35 wont fit.

Im not sure mate, sure it wouldnt be too hard, as id imagen the motors would be incorporated in the tweeters and would need a remote feet so when the stereo is on they pop up and when they turn off they go back in. Will need cutting into your dash and wiring.

Would be worth while.

N8, don't ya need a hub ring to fit the A3 with this wheel?

Sorry, a request guys. Is there an image of these 20" A8 wheels on an A3/S3/A4?

I know there is a Steel Grey Mk5 R32 with these bad boys on, but I can't find any pics of that. Anyone help me out?

Yes. They are on the A7/A8. They are 20" x 9 ET37, he is a french lad, and has LOTS of arch work to fit. If these wheels wudda worked Rich, I would have been rocking em last year, anyway here is the car my Highland Brother!

Next time Rich, just PM me   ;)

Can someone please tell me if these wheels will fit my car?

They are 5x112 8.0x19 ET45 with 225/35/19 rubber. My A3 has been lowered with the Eibach Sportline springs.
Any rubbing, or just a case of removing the rear screw?

Boring? predictable? Perhaps, but they suit the A3 down to the ground, 8.5x19 ET48.
