Has anyone left their pre-facelift car pre-facelift and prefer it that way?

Foxmiester is the only guy I know thats rocking pre-facelift and loving it.

I prefer the door handles from a pre-facelift.

personally i feel the facelift makes the car a nicer place to be.

Less 1990's and more 2000's

The exterior tweaks are subtle, but FL headlights and grill really make the outside look much less dated too.

Agreed first thing you should do to a PFL is facelift it as it will look more modern and not like an old 80 or 100 lol

Each to their own. I can see things I like in pre and post but I'm still in love with the older stuff where I started with the 100's 80's and especially the 90 Sport. There was a logical progression to the model range. I could see the evolution in parts of my 90 to my pre facelift A4

Fl bumper and lights on mine, I much prefer the look of them.
Do agree on the door handles though, reassuringly old audi

i dont mind the handles, and the bumpers arent hugely different to be worth changing unless they're needing changed anyway, but the headlights make a massive difference to the overall appearance of the car.

Outside, there are lots of small details, but the lights are the most noticable.

For the exterior, they changed:

Door Mirrors
Door Handles
Rub Strips
Side Repeaters
Headlights
Grille
Bumpers
Windscreen Wipers
Windscreen Washer Nozzles
Rear lights
Boot lid/grab handle.

You'd need to cut your wings and change/rewire the plugs.


I want the chrome strips.

I actually prefer the pre-facelift dash layout but like the centre console from a facelift a bit better, I'm just going to swap the later console in and keep my original dash for the best of both worlds. I managed to get a pre-facelift console with arm rest so I need to cut the facelift one to accept it anyway.

Well, not completely pre, theres a few changes like;

Headlights (facelift)
Bumper Fr (RS4 so technically facelift)
Grille (Again RS4)
Rear Bumper (S4 Facelift)

Then theres the custom stuff;

Deleted wing repeaters
Deleted door bottom strips
Taillights
etc

So its a mix of new, old and different but yeah i like how some of the pre stuff is, door handles etc. Biggest thing to change i agree is the headlights, pre-face ones just look so aged and discoloured, even a clean car can look rough with small details like this.

Even better I don't suppose anyone has a pair of PFL 'left hand drive' headlights...
