HID kit or updated h7 bulbs?

Well I am in two places with this.

Had factory fit xenons on my previous GTI and S3 and miss them on the A4.

Thinking of either getting the Lightec 4300k HID kit as have projector lenses or some Philips diamond vision h7 bulbs for a close match in terms of colour to HID

Really stuck on this one

Swinging towards the more expensive lightec canbus kit as the cables are also braided for extra rf protection, otherwise there is the hids direct canbus kit

Any abs issues and where have you located the ballast......under headlight in the oem space?

HID!!!!!!

hid will always be superior then xenon bulbs, when you're driving on the motorway at night in unlit areas, there is no substitution for hid's!!

Split between the Lightec kit and the HIDs-Direct kit @4300k for OEM look and this was the rating on my other factory fitted xenon's.

If you do get a HID kit, just make sure its a decent one. These light systems on A4's are fussy buggers. Ive tried to sets of old style jobbies and they both cause issues (flickering, switching off etc...)

Without hijacking, would be good to see what kits people reccomend as im going to get another set soon.

I keep swinging towards the Lightec kit as it has extra shielding on the power cables......need to measure the space under the headlight to see what will actually fit in there first.

I have the canbus kit from hids-direct: here

The ballast is just too deep to go under the headlight in the OEM location, so I fit them where I could. On drivers side they are up near the back, close to the wing where there are two pipes (not sure what the pipes are ha). On the passenger side they are close to the power steering reservoir. Under the plastic cover there is a random cage that was empty, and I fit them there. When I first fit them I had an error, but moved the passenger side one closer to the middle of the car and I've not had any errors now in about 3 months.

I'd recommend HID's, mine are amazing, even the wife can tell a difference.

Other than the initial errors which I stated, not a sausage. Once I moved the ballast a little as described it worked perfectly. Not done a million miles with them in, but been on for a good few months now (think it was early May I fit them) and not a thing gone wrong.

I've got the HID's Direct 4300k Canbus pro kit. I used to have Osram nightbreakers and the HID kit is way better. No errors from my B7 either (and I had horrendous trouble with sidelight LED's). Had the kit in 6 months and no issues so far.

Well ordered the ultra slim canbus ballasts with 4300k bulbs in the end so they fit into the headlight recess with ease. Just waiting for them to come and will also be making some metal plates for the base of the headlight like on the guide to increase shielding and tidy thing up.

Kit arrived and fitted it all into each headlight. I created a metal base plate for each out of a modded baking tray LOL as thought it can conduct heat well, sealed it all up with black silicone and then down to the local mot garage who aligned them all up for me and that was free which was nice!

Not seen them at night yet but looks good in the daylight.
