I'm looking to buy this camera http://gopro.com/hd-hero2-cameras/ for an upcoming track day at Croft circuit.

I also like the idea of an in-car camera for day to day use as I see some, lets say, "interesting" driving techniques when i'm out n about which would be great to see documented.

I'm thinking of mounting it to the inner side of my head restraint so to capture as close to my eye view as possible, rather than attaching to the inside of the windscreen.

Anyone got any thoughts, suggestions etc??

Thanks.

Higgins has his GoPro attached between the two centre airvents - doesnt look too bad and gives a superb view.

Ive got the roadhawk installed in my A3 which is a quality bit of kit.. Positioned behind the rear view mirror and it starts recording every time the cars turned on, when youve done something, or someone ;), that you like the look of.. Whip the SD card out and save the footage on a laptop.

I have quite a few of these. 5 last time I checked, I ski alot and have a track mini and what not so yeah.. 2 of which are the gopro 2 and they're really good, and improvement on the old ones which is hard.. ha..

I have had mine mounted off of the windsreen by the mirror, on the dash between the 2 air vents, hanging down from the rear interior light cluster and placed on the middle headrest on the rear seats..

I found the headrest was slightly too far back but good if you want some of the interior, hanging from the rear lights also was better for interior but people in the rear seats would knock it down but good view of dash and road and then the dash and windscreen loactions were good.

You'll find it hard to fix it seculy in the location you mentioned as you don't want it too mave at all or you get really bad footage..

Suction cupped to the bottom of the door looking forward and up is quite cool and zip tied to the bottom of the front bumper gives quite a cool view in corners..

They're easy to get the sd cards out of and can just stick 32gb class 10's in.. Also water proof and can move them easily.. Great for outdoor sports, use mine for skiing, polo, biking, car racing, kiting, lacroose. ocasionaly stick them on tracors and goona try the combine this year, stucking on the horses, dogs, end of a polo stick.. Indestructable, just watch ken blocks videos to see..

This is one of our sites that specialise in this kind of thing!!!

Advanced In Car Camera Systems - Blackvue | In Car Camera System | Accident Witness | No Claims Discount Protection

This is our main video (Which is fitted in my car):

**Make sure you click the cog and set it to 1080p**

We only rate the Blackvue cameras as we think they are the dogs danglies in terms of quality, size etc. They also have the ability to record when you are away from the vehicle. Say for example when you're parked in a car park and somebody hits your car!! The motion detection activates when it detects movement or if the car is knoced and activates one of the sensors in the camera.

Hopefully we will be doing a group buy in the near future!

That looks great. Let us know when the group buy goes ahead. I'm bout to buy an S3 and concerned about my mirrors being stolen when parked up.

You could always include your car in the video :sm4:

Well the Hero2 arrived this morning and here is a pic of where i've mounted it. Using a Gorillapod and the tripod mount it's wrapped around the inner chrome head restraint post on the drivers seat. Only a trip out will confirm its suitability. It does seem very sturdy and it's also fitted with the LCD Backpac.

Sure, I did a video test and although it does show me, it doesn't block the view. Cheers for the heads up though.

One thing I didn't do is fit my phone in the bracket and run Tomtom App. Hopefully it will be clear enough to show location should I need the footage for evidence etc.

I've got a mount for mine between the two air vents I've also got the go pro suction cup which is awesome for out side vehicle videos
