Hi guys, I don't know bout you lot, but I for 1 wish I'd NEVER had bought a ****** Audi!
I have a 2007 2.0 TDi 140 sportback, only 14 months in & so far Ive spent £1400 on it. I have had a new DMF + new starter motor because my car shudders quickly just b4 it fires up! None of what I have had done has fixed it! Now my ABS & ESP light is on WTF? The poxy thing is just a money pit!
I have been using this site since owning my Audi & I cannot believe ALL of the issues with this luxury car maker! I also cannot believe how decieptful the showrooms are! They know the issues & recalls, but will avoid at all costs, until cornered to do anything about them!
How are they getting away with it??? Where is customer protection here?
I protested & protested to vosa about the injector issues, even though my car doesn't suffer this problem, yet VOSA were so flaky it was unbelievable! This was putting peoples lives at risk yet there was no rush to force a recall! Even though letters are being sent out to the 170 owners, this recall is NOT listed in Audi's recall list! Neither is the fuel actuator issue caused by the new injectors being fitted!
I dreamed of owning an S Line, but I'd rather had kept my very reliable Megane!
I can't help but get soooo angry at Audi, they're so unreliable & repairing the lump casts a bloddy fortune, they're raking it in off of our utter misery guys! :sign_unfair:
C'mon, lets see some fight! ***!
Rant over! off to buy a long rope lol! 1 P****d off Audi owner!!!!!! :banghead:

The 2.0TDI engine isn't VAGs greatest creation! I was put off buying an B7 A4 2.0 TDI due to issues with balancer shafts and oil pump failures leading to a dead engine! The TDI170 injector issue is accross the VAG range, not just Audi!

Luckily for me, I did the research and never got round to buying a 2.0TDI engined car. My B5 Passat 1.9TDI PD is still going strong @193k miles! Glad I never sold it!!, still on it's original clutch and flywheel also(touchwood). I even rebuilt the front suspension, so it now drives like new again.

how many miles a year do you do fella? DPF probs are mainly down to people not doing enough or constant short journeys on engines with DPFs - what happens is the DPF gets clogged up if not enough miles are done or its only town/short driving etc and that's what causes the issues - all diesel engines with dpfs are prone to it. I work for Mazda - japanese, reliable etc.. the main probs we have nowadays is DPF ones... so although as mentioned the 2.0 tdi unit isnt the best, it could have happened in whatever car you had! DPFs were only put in to lower the emissions on diesel engines and are just generally rubbish..!

I'm not sticking up for the wat they've treated you or whatever or sticking up for audi but jus stating facts really!

Hi guy, soz I bn out looking for the biggest sledge hammer I can find! I've got a very expensive ornament on my drive I just want to smash the s**t out of! Car is dead since checking some fuses & now the airbag light is on too! Not turning over, just dead!
I don't have a DPF on my A3 as it's the 140 BKD engine JtotheD.
And what's wrong with a Magane trwy, at least it ****** went ha ha!
Sportstractor I'm on 70K at the mo, worst car I have ever owned & theres been a few!
Any ideas guys, I took some fuses out last nite just to check, now my cars dead! probs the wheels weren't dead straight F**k! Now wot do i do???:sos:

haha meganes are cool bro:no: but i would never go french ever again lol i cant believe your having these probs with such a new car
hope you sort it m8
peace

You can't really blame Audi for failed DMF on a 2007 car. Most of modern diesel cars are equipped in DMF and no matter what make they are, they do fail exactly the same way due to mileage. I bought a Mondeo few years ago with 35k miles and had to change DMF after 1000miles. Bad luck and £900 short at that time. You should have left the starter motor in peace. It is after all a diesel engine and all of them "move" when you start it.

Why would you protest to VOSA to get a recall when your car doesn't have failing injectors?
I did have my injectors on A4 changed before recall with no problems after a call to Audi UK.
When bought my Leon FR with the same engine I knew exactly what I'm buying and had them replaced by the dealer 3 days after purchase. That was when recall was on and all I had to do is pick up the phone.
Owned a B5, B6, B7 for longer and S3 and A6 for couple of months only.
B7 was the worst one tbh when it came to faults but these were only minor things anyway. Your abs/esp light is probably only a sensor.

I dreamed of owning an S Line, but I'd rather had kept my very reliable Megane!

I do realize that Audis do break. Like every other average car. But you will never convince me that they are worse than a megane.
My gf has a megane 2 and my dad a scenic. There are on average 2 new faults on each car every month. Mainly electrics.

Car is dead since checking some fuses & now the airbag light is on too! Not turning over, just dead!

Why were you checking the fuses?

Mate, seems like you bought a bad un, the one I bought has been a peach.

I once drove a Megane, for 1 day, bucket of ****e in my view.

you need a good mechanic
you spent 1400 on the DMF and started and it didnt sort the problem ?
you need someone who knows what there doing
and why was you pulling the fuses ?

Hi Lee

Have you taken your audi back to audi and let them figure out what was wrong with it or have you just had a few guesses and not found out the info? the reason i say this is, if audi say its "this" and that does not fix i then then you dont have to pay for there miss diegnosis on the car and any of the work they have done, i know this 1st hand,

Also where did you buy your audi from? a dealer or private sale ?

Regards

Paul

Oh the woes of motoring eh!
Well I had the DMF done after Audi in Swansea ran a diagnosis on my car when they were actually supposed to have been INSPECTING my injectors. Now they knew only the 170's suffered from the injector issues but still went ahead & let me put my 140 in for inspection. VOSA told me that the 140 ver suffered also, but then retracted that when I arrived home very angry & £107.56 down with no faults found on my car.
Then my Sis in law told me she knew an Audi tech & he does work on her A3. Gr8 I thought, save a few precious bucks ere.
He said the rattle on my car when starting( not general rocking as others on here thought I meant) but a shudder & rattling sound was my DMF. He laughed & said, who the f**k inspected ur car at Audi, they're f*****g crazy not to diagnose this! Anyway he fitted me a new 1 on hobble, most but not all the rattle & shudder went away. However after 2 wks it returned but not as bad, he then said that the starter on some of these play up with the armature failing inside the motor. This can cause the starter to spin unevenly & snatch at the flywheel. Gr8 so I had that done! Awesome for 2 days, then the rattle & shudder came back aaaaargh!
So I can't go back to Audi & complain cos they didn't work on it.
Now it seems my mechatronics ecu is f****d! Another £1000 just for the part! I freakin hate my car soooo so much!
My Megane gave me no trouble in 6 years of owning! It may b slow & look ****, but it's cheaper, the dealership was up front with me & didn't rob me blind!
Read a lot of the posts on here, then who can say Audi's r reliable? Crikey it makes for scary reading!
My car cost me £10,000 & in under 18 months I've had to cough up over £2500 & it sucks man! thats 1 quarter of its value.... gone!
Oh & as far as checking my fuses, I read a post on here.
Any of you guy want a hobble? Burn my ****** car! He he!

Welcome to Audi ownership

Megane lol
