My A3 Modification project page

i would but im shiznit with audio and cables so i leave it to someone who knows what their doing

well thats the last time i go there now and itwasntme187, it would cost me the difference getting to you ;) nah but i would cost like £30 in fuel if i drive conservatively (which wont happen ) ;)

so i went to my garage to get coilies lowered more and it turns out the fronts are as low as they go but the back can be slammed but they seem to have settled a bit so im gonna leave them as they are as they look alright now tbh. they are so good at handling and round corners on the wet there is so much grip

how do i de-badge my audi (a3 and 1.6 badges)?

How are you finding the pioneer unit mate? Im thinking of getting one as theyre on offer at Halfords now for £299.

Nice installation of the wrap. But it doesn't look good on the car, looks like the bonnet has been prepped for painting! Apart from that it's all good

It looks better in real as it contrasts more just doesn't show up in picks
The pioneer unit is great works really well sat nav great as well

A hair dryer should do the trick! Just need to apply localized heat to soften the adhesives. As for prising off, try a smooth thin plastic card.

Might sound daft but wd40 will remove any residue. However, I'm sure the detailers here will have a mild stroke by my suggesting that! It's harmless, honest! I use it in small quantity for removing tar spots. Very effective.

Thankyou I will give it a shot

so the suspension has settled a bit but it is still too high could the fact it not going lower at the front be down to me possibly getting suspension for the wrong strut size?
i got 50mm strut suspension as apposed to the ones which fit 55mm as i didnt know which one was correct

oh and i have now removed the 1.6 from the back ;) hairdryer was simples apart from having to park the car an inch from my front door ;)

50mm is the correct size for your engine. 55mm strut wont fit into your hub. How low do the coilovers say they will go?

the coilies can go 65mm or around that but the front is fully wound down and wont go lower and theres still a big gap of like 3-4cm
the back can be slammed but the front is at its best. spax were helpful in replying but seemingly never gave me a solution and i havent had a reply in a month. what do you think, im half tempter to just buy some eibach and take these off and sell them, only issue is i dont know what i would get for them (sorry about the life story)

also i like the roof but im not sure i like the bonnet in carbon, if i were to remove would it come off easy or would it leave a great load of gaff like the price sticker on a birthday card?

UPDATE*****

I now have got these parts which are being fitted by dyno-tech in derby on august 6th (well they are doing most of it)

i have:
the jetex exhaust half system
a new dolphin grey rear valance from a larger engine model (has a dual exhaust port like the letex system)
i have a black front grill
i have bought black audi rings for front which i have now sprayed dolphin grey so match car (dont know whether to apply laquer and make em shiney or not)
i have also just bought on ebay some new my11 rears which will go on as soon as they are sent.
also the spax rsx coilies which for some unknown reason wouldnt drop on front, spax have sent me two replacement springs for front (shorter than ones sent originally) so when they go on it will be as low as possible ;P

Looking good so far, get some more pics up when you get the front springs on.

That head unit really does look nice!

Oh and don't get the shiny silver/chrome mirror covers, they look terrible. Get the (alu looking) S3 type.

yeah i looked at them and they look poor, im gonna get the oem alu ones eventually

Hi so on monday i am getting it lowered some more and the new jetex exhaust is going on and the front black grill with dolphin grey audi rings ;). i thought i would just put a fresh few pics of the new lights and the audi-sport.net sticker in the sunlight.

So guys, everything went on today; new front springs on coilies, black front grill, new dual pipe jetex half system exhaust and a new rear valance so it fits and it has also been lowered as much as it can be, waiting for the front springs to settle as they are a few mm higher than rear and rear is slammed front looks low enough atm but when it settles it will look even better. the exhaust sounds great and i am so happy with how it all turned out.
i wasnt sure about the carbon bonnet but with the black grill it makes it look much better. pics up probs thursday as im busy before then. :D

Do here is a few iPhone pics of it
I'm really happy with how it looks now :D

It is much lower than it was now and the front still needs a few mm settling it looks lower than in the pics though

Looks much better but as already stated, I'm not a big fan of the carbon wrap with that colour paint.

That's Tercio's car in your avatar!

Didn't realise it was a member on here! I'll take it off later.

Are there any links to his profile page/a progress thread of the car?

Would be interested to read up on it.

Me too

The carbon wrap is staying for a while cus I still like it but hey I am 19 so it's understandable, probs not a good look for someone older and I would take it off when I finish uni probs cus it would still look mad without it.

It's not a broken link, you need to be a member on ed38 :)

I've registered and I still get this error message every time I click the link.

i am really happy with it at the moment.

when i go back to uni im probs gonna take the alloys off cus its all parallel parking and i have a habbit of shagging the kerb ;)

Car's looking nice, big fan of the wheels!

Sorry if I've missed it but are they MY09 or MY11 rear lights? Suit it really well.

Update

i have removed the bonnet vinyl as i thought it would look better without and also it is always dirty despite regular washes and it looks a lot better IMO. crap iphone pic, better when i have properly cleaned it and had small stone chips on bonnet removed :D alloys wise, i have kerbed these but they are cheap immitations so when i finish uni (no more regular parallel parking for me to fail at) i will probs get rotors 19s probably mabes risk it and go 20 ;)
