Someone on here one carpeted their engine bay plastics in blue carpet.

Thought it was a wind up at first (has to be a fire risk as well as a colour clash!). Each to their own, but not my cup of tea at all. LINK TO FULL THREAD

That followed by those plastic things that people fit to front windows to deflect wind. Big on Focus RS's, look like Christmas cracker toys on a decent Audi!

That thread was so fcuking funny! haha

I believe, if you read the thread, that the blue stuff is alcantara not carpet.

So that's alright then.:puke:

:busted_cop: the driver must be caught and given medical help

well I make that a 1.8 litre with 112bhp...so it's not into space just yet!

There must be one hell of an engine under that bonnet!

i wonder how/when/why he thought that would improve his life in any way?

Someone shoved a potato up his exhaust once. ONCE!
Now nobody is going to waste 6 watermelons pranking this guy.

this actually looks like a watermelon! inside and out! amazing...................................

To be honest i think if someone has put the time and effort into their car i probably have more in common with them than a guy that buys a 911 and never lifts the bonnet or works on his car.

Don't get me wrong i wouldn't purchase a lot of the cars posted in this thread, but in my opinion the world is full of miserable gits, so if a persons mods on their car make them smile as they drive to work in the morning then seeing someone happy overrides any bad thoughts i have about their car.

Only thing that really does wind me up is these jerks that lower their cars to stupid proportions, stanced i think it's called.

I'm sick and tired of being stuck behind jerks like this that are forever slamming on their brakes and swerving all over the road to avoid potholes.
Each to their own and all that, but if you can't take a speed bump without swerving all over the road then in my opinion your car should not be on public roads.

That's not a style or fashion thing for me it's purely road safety.

Easy fella - a few of 'em are on this board ...

additionally if you take some of those potholes they reuin the geometry on your car its especially sensitive on the quattro, add in potentially kebing and buckling wheels. i will continue to swerve and slow calmly till the roads are sorted, my suspension is standard. if you cannot hack this then dont sit so close up my **** :)

I think that the way things are right now,we're all going to wait till Hell freezes over before the roads get fixed.

Ours still have potholes left over from last year, let alone this year.

Anyway, back on topic....it's easy enough to pass stancers if you wish or just chill behind them.

I don't care for it myself, but loads enjoy it so it's a personal choice.

Barrying an Audi though is different!

Love the way the rims fill the arches on this 6R4 "replica"

Wonder how he'll get the fuel in?

Lovely the way he's got the chain mail effect following the line of the wheel arch!

Just to think I have been agonising over whether I might go piano black or carbon effect on my B pillars :meeting:

Fair enough, doesn't change my opinion that they shouldn't be on public roads though.

It's not just getting behind these jerks you have to worry about though, a mate at work got side swipped by a guy in his Civic.

He was dropping the kids off at school and the Civic crossed over into his side of the road enough that he was side swipped by the Civic AND cracked his wheels on the kerb.

What made matters worse was the Civic was THAT low he was running with only a few cm of suspension travel, so when he braked that travel was taken up within a few feet the rest of the time you may as well have bolted the wheels directly to the chassis for what good they were doing.

I'm all for modifying cars, i've been doing it the last 30 years of my life.
But when you dramatically reduce the stopping distance and handling of a car simply because of some type of "fashion statement"
I just think that fashion is something best left to those idiots like Paris Hilton rather than cars used on public roads.

So in my opinion the guy with the melon car is a damn sight better than those that run stupidly low, as at least the melon car is road worthy :icon_thumright:

^ I actually like it. I think it looks fast.
I'd also like to be friends with the guy who did it, he's got talent.
