tried to activate hidden menu through my snap on solus pro scanner in expert mode ,but there is no module 07 .
so my question is other than vag com is there any other cheaper way to do this?
also i know an audi tech at the dealers so would there diagnostic equipment be able to do it as he has a crack copy on his laptop?

Welcome to the site Ian, in future, please always remember to give your car info so the right people can advise.

i can give you some instructions on how to do it Ian but you need to have VCDS.

there is only 1 thing you need to change in VCDS in the adaptation to activate this, the rest is done depending what if you have MMi 1 or 2. it cant be done with the latest HD MMi just yet.

when i get home later tonight i can post this up for you.

IT WILL NOT WORK ON RSNE.

Thanks for the replys,i am now fitting the retrofit ami kit and need to activate media player 2 i beleive,i know what to do from searching other posts, but would like to know can you do that with the VAS PC equipment? any info on it would be great.

GFF should allow this to be activated.

Guided Fault Finding, its part of the vas system & with all respect the fact you're asking if vas will do it, but you dont know GFF, is a little worrying given its the main part of that system, I'd be very careful what you mess with as things could easily go wrong if you dont know how to use it.

I dont own the vas sytem, and was asking advise about the system!

I gave you good advice, but little confused tbh Ian, you're asking advice about a £10k piece of software/hardware that you dont own or have any knowledge of, so do we assume you have a friend that does own it or you intend to buy VAS?

I'm not being funny or difficult, just trying to ascertain where this is going so we can advise best way forward, but as I stated before, even with vcds if you're not to careful you can end up in a world of shxt very easily, so you need to advise what system you will use to do the coding.

VAS PC is an illegal Chinese knock off of VW's factory tool. Nigel, I suggest you shut down any talk of this tool on your forum. You may face legal action by VW if conversation continues.

As to comparing a Chinese knock off to VCDS - need I say anymore? Ian, if you choose to go that route, beware - the knock-off is not as good as the real deal.

VCDS does not use GFF. But VCDS does provide the ability to code modules for those who have the knowledge to do so. We cannot categorically state that we know what you would like to do until we see a complete scan from the vehicle and we know what modules, what rev level, what software level and so on is installed. Yes, on some A6 C6 platform cars, the menu can be turned on. Whether or not it can be done on yours depends on the equipment installed in your car.

Again thanks for your input Bruce.

I think its only fair Ian is allowed to give more info on his chosen route, if it does appear to be relevant to counterfeit products, then as per Admins rules, it isnt allowed & thus will be locked down.

Ahhh, oops I have just seen this, overlooked it this before, my mistake.

Since this was the original discussion topic, this is obviously discussing the use of counterfeit products of which is not allowed on the forum & thus will now be shut down.

Ian please refrain from discussing the use of counterfeit products on the forum in future.
