What colour for brake calipers

Right chaps,

When I get my wheels done graphite I'm also going to get my calipers done. Question is though, what colour??

I was all set on gloss red but am recently turning to gold metallic.

But what do you think? Red, gold, black or something else?

The car is akoya silver if that helps.

personally think red is a bit overdone. Maybe paint the caliper the akoya silver , is that a bluey silver? if so then a blue caliper would also look good.

A nice matt black is great for calipers imo.

I agree about the red, done to death and old hat.

Not sure what size the discs and calipers are. Not very, certainly not big enough get lacquer an sline badge onto the face of the calipers.

Think it's a toss up between gloss black and gold.

Just silver for me if they are in bad shape, otherwise just a nice good old fashioned clean should make them come up nicely....gold or red or green or godknows what just looks awful and laughable in my opinion...

I've always been tempted with a dark metalic blue on a silver car.... very subtle, but different...

and just drop a small 4-rings transfer on it, don't bother with S-Line...

I took them off the car and ground all 4 calipers back to good metal then painted with a brush, I guess they could be done on the car but it would make it difficult to clean and sand down first, then you'd have to mask everything too

Be interested to see what you do, need to do mine and my car is akoya silver with dark wheels, akoya silver might look ok but please don't do them red get pics up when you've done

I painted mine silver using Hammerite smooth paint........nice OEM look in my opinion.

I just wire brushed and sanded any flakes smooth, then sprayed brake cleaner on and let it evaporate before masking up and painting with a fine and medium brush

The other option was black.
