Cigarette lighter

The cigarette lighter in my car won't stay down to heat when pressed
i really only want it to work for powering the satnav but can't get ant power from it
i have checked the fuse and it is fine and have tried plugging in a few items
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here

Are you 100% sure there is no power there? The cigarette lighter not staying down might be a simple case of it need the tabs folding in a little bit to keep hold of the lighter.

my cig lighter doesnt hold down its self, but still works if i keep my finger onit, but my power is working as i used my iphone charger loads

Tabs, mine had this, Audi said its because the adaptors for these type of things push the pins out. Push them back.. ..

so does it heat up when you hold it down ?

I used a small flat screwdriver to lever the tabs at the bottom in a little and blew a fuse in the process (#24, 20a) - it hold the lighter fine now.
