Ive currently got a B6 1.9 tdi Quattro thinking of changing it for a b7 3.0 tdi Quattro:) looking at my budget the cars I can afford will have around 90k too 120k miles on them, having that mileage will they still be reliable enough? Do these have any common failures other than the flap on the manifold which was all I could see when I used the search.

I'm up to 128k and (touch wood) its never missed a beat at all. I service it myself every 10k using gen parts and Castrol edge. I really can't see me getting rid because I have no idea what would be as a reliable replacement.
In over 4 years, apart from tyres and servicing, ive never had to spend a penny on it.
I can't recommend one highly enough.

I have the 2.7 which is almost the same and at 129k its never let me down and is heavily modded!, regular maintenace is top priority for these so make sure it has all the stamps in the book and ring the dealer to make sure its not been falsified, they keep their records for at least 6 years, these are great engins and I would defo have another :)

3.0 tdi are a peach of an engine, as with any, just tender loving care & most will treat you the same.

Lovely power & imho not bad economy either.

Mate had his mapped & I did the before & after, was sublime.

Very true - keep it maintained with regular oil changes and a good dealer or specialist history you'll be grand.

Just listen out for chain rattle when starting from cold or it's a engine out job to replace the chain.

Cheers for the replys guys, deffo gonna get one just need to get a few more pennies saved up, insurance is a bit steep dunno if it's due to my age as its not really a car for my age group id say but will be worth it.
