Congrats on your purchase - looking at the brochure and configurator, I thought the new 8V A3 was not available in Ibis white and this solid colour has been replaced with Amalfi white? (as per the A1) Glacier white is still available as an option.

oh well im not sure then :S when my dad was there to put the deposit down in my place as i was at work he rung me and said would i prefer grey or white? so i said white but i just presumed that it was ibis white?

Congrtas on the new car mate, i have an A3 in ibis white, and whilst it looks good when it's clean, i am dissapointed in my choice. No matter how well i polish it, it just never looks how i'd hope. I just can't seem to get any depth of glossiness to it. Don't mean to dampen the mood:unsure: I think the new A3 is a beautiful car though, and i wish i could afford one:icon_thumright:

yeah i know what u mean i sometimes have waxed and polished my dads white cars and its hard to get a glossy finish :S but yes i have just checked .... it is not ibis white :S its called something like "amalfi white". But the question i have now is what will this white look like? i hope it is same as ibis white :/ any ideas? thanks

No it's a creamier white. Glacier white is a nicer white but I think you have to pay. The glacier has a bluey tone and better reflection. Look at any A1 in white and more likely than not its Amalfi white.

If you google image search Audi Amalfi White - the first 2 pics are a good match to what its like, I drive past a parked Amalfi A1 most days.

yeah i see what u guys mean it is a little whiter ha like creamier :) nice cant wait :) just need to pass 3 months now :?

Wow, I know I'm new here but you don't know what equipment comes on the car you've ordered?! I'm quite anal about options/equipment and I research everything to death but each to their own! I am actually quite disappointed to find out there is no Ibis White, my current 61 Audi A3 is Ibis white and it is a lovely white but I really don't like Amalfi or Glacier. I'll have to pick another colour now!! Still disappointed to see heated seats and cruise control still are not standard on the Tdi sline.

If heated seats and cruise control were standard then the price would be higher for everyone, even those who don't want them on their car. Better to give each buyer the choice of what they want and what they are prepared to pay for. I always have lots of extras on the A3 I personally order (£4,625 worth on my current Sportback that I purchased in March) but I'm sure a lot of people would not want to pay for some of the items I have. You don't get your money back on a lot of extras but it does make the car more desirable to me and to the next buyer so it's easier to get a good price when I trade-in or sell.

Fair enough - but other manufacturers offer alot more on the base model. Buying the badge, I know! :)

Do they?? I think you'll find that BMW and Mercedes specs are all similar to Audi's.... In fact you actually get more on an Audi in some cases. For instance Xenons are standard on all S-Line models now bar the A1. You won't get them on an M Sport BMW!
