Thinking of getting TT but don't know which type? What type do you have and how much?

I've looked on this forum for similar sort of post but couldn't find one! So thought it would be best to list your Audi TTs type and how much it cost you at which year!?!

Please use the following format;

(Purchased Year) - Type, Price, Reg

I'm personally thinking of selling my A3 and buying TT, but coz I didn't know the differences and what sort of price I should be looking for, then though it would probably be best for the TT owners to list their TTs with price, reg and of course the type!

NOTE to Admin: Please sign this post as sticky so it would stay on the top for new TT owners or ones trying to buy one like me!

Thanks in advance and hope you enjoy your TTs :)

Depends if you want a Mk1 or a Mk2?

Mk1 start around £3000 and Mk2 start around £10000

Wouldn't Autotrader tell you everything you need???

No mate! Often people buy of Auto Trader think they've got that car at descent price but unfortunately not as that's only the place for car dealers who only know the technique to rip off people and nothing else!

If I wanted to the car values where there is loads of places online and of course at dealers...
But I'm rather looking to see how much people got their cars for?!? Of course some people are more experienced than others... but not all if you know what I'm talking about! :)

Maybe I didn't clearly explain within my first post! :( Sorry

However some people on this forum may not want others to find out about their car values etc. as they might want to sell it on this forum afterwards, so approx values is also fine! As long as you can give close figures to what you paid for the car!

Thanks for your consideration!

MK1s...?!? Well not sure if someone would still go for it as the new shapes looks much better and much efficient!

I already done a bit of research and I was only able to find out a few types and distinguish a few differences but not much!

2.0 Quattro (170 BHP, 53 MPG, £120 TAX)
2.0 T FSI (200 BHP, 36 MPG, £250 TAX)

Starting price £11K ~ £11,500K for both types

To me these two look much similar in speed-wise, but not sure which one to for and why! But was morn concerned about the fuel, therefore thought maybe would worth trying LPG!?!

What do you think!
Has anyone tried LPG on low MPG TTs!?!

Thanks in advance!

What I was more worried if diesel worth buying due to the diesel price!?! Also one of mates bought the FSI or TFSI (not sure which one), and he wana go for px!?! Not sure but seen so many people go for diesel ones!?!

Anyone know... :)
Cheers

For the diesel to be worth the extra cost youve really got to be doing high mileage each year. I changed from a 1.8T 225bhp Quattro Mk1 to my A3 BE 2.0Tdi as the amount of miles I was covering meant about £80 a week in the TT now im £60 every 10 days or so.

Personally having owned the Mk1 for a few years I loved it and it is so much better than the Mk2 in my eyes. Although you do get more modern touches in the Mk2 as you would expect. The early models of the Mk2 are starting to have a lot of problems however but it is kind of expected with any car. The more you can afford to spend the better car you will get most times

Great explanation! Thanks :)

Personally I will be covering 10k miles/year...

For that sort of mileage diesel doesn't make any sense. The switch kicks in at around 18k miles pa.

How about going for the PETROL type and just put it on LPG?!? Does that help to keep the value of car as well as saving fuel cost!?!

Cheers

I wouldnt bother with LPG tbh I think it just seems a waste of time. The petrol engine is good enough and if your driving it casually youll probably see decent mpg out of it.

I do around 13000 miles a year compared to the 8000 i thought i would be doing due to circumstances changing. I am spending around £65 a week now on Diesel. If I still had the TT I would be £80 every 3-4 days so I am still seeing a huge saving so really it is up to you. Take a test drive in both first, youll see the diesel is very torquey(?) where as the petrol will have more 'go'

A diesel sports coupe / cabriolet? Oh please. The noise, the smell, the whiff of white van man or sales reps. in derv driven 3 Series.

have to agree with you, Diesel sports car......... What's the point. I had a MK2 2.0 Tfsi Quattro Special edition DSG
and I loved it, every journey was an occasion....

Traded in for more sensible car due to pressure from wife and kids.....

I'm with robbimac, though I've an RS3 too, same as him: but having had a 3.2TT roadster last year (I was missing the roof-off
ability of my 1971 Elan) we found that the MK2 2.0 TFSI Quattro roadster with 6-speed DSG to be more to our liking and very similar to the RS3 - with 7-speed DSG... it's true! And economic too...
