Hi all i have the chance to purchase a BMW M5 (05 REG) 27500 miles for what i deem to be cheap, ive test driven it and it drives so smooth no knocks, bangs or grinding noises, it has full BMW S/H

My question being what is the market value at the moment for one of these?

Regards

Jamie

I think I'd be looking for advice on a M specific forum, these are great cars but I can't imagine you'd want to buy a bad one! I assume it would be an early E60?

Value wise all I can add is an online search in the normal places.

Best place for evaluations is to look on autotrader and pistonheads to see what they go for? 05 reg you say?, check if it sneaks under the £400 taxband also!

It wont be for me to drive or keep i would be purchasing and making an investment (hopefully)

whats it up for ? mate, there are a shed load of ringers out there right now in the 4x4 market, take it down to your local BMW main dealer and let them loot at it for £150 to make sure its not ringed.

I have see the paperwork and the bloke whos selling it is 68 hes selling it because he and his wife are emigrating to a holiday home they have in cyprus on July 1st so wants it gone asap ive managed to get him down to £8200 he wanted £9500

How is buying an M5 an investment? Do you plan to keep it years in storage or something? Personally just save your money, there's much less risk for you that way.

No I would buy to sell, i think its cheap for an M5 but for all i know it could be the going rate for one!

Ah i see! Makes sense now, just do your home work before you sink £8500 into it, you don't want to make a loss!

Sounds cheap for a V10 supercar! I'm sure a search on Pistonheads and Autotrader would soon tell you.
