Reesy's Big Turbo A3

FMIC related question whilst I am in here..

Where does the MAP sensor pipe go in relation to this drawing

The drawing, by Jay, shows his set up and I think the sensor pipe placement will decide whether I need the 135 degree pipe or not.

I used the 135m so it hugged in as tight as possible... Some would use a 90mm pipe there. I am not sure on the map sensor position, but could it go in place of the coupler ??

Standard position would be equivalent to the 135 pipe. It screws into the top of the stock intercooler. Weld a map sensor boss onto the 135 pipe, bring it down and I'll weld it on for you.

I wouldn't use a 135 pipe there myself, the 90 degree pipe sits better I reckon, it's just a case of getting the angle of the lower 90 degree correct!

I have a forge map sensor pipe mate, so that should do it, just wondering where it fitted in the equation. Might need you to weld an 8mm and a 25mm pipe (dv and n75) onto an ally 90 i have though mate, and need to have a chat to you about downpipe fitting... :salute:

Having gone off the list that we chatted about, I hadn't ordered a 135 as i couldn't see where it fitted in. Jay reckons it works better, but as you say that all depends on the fitment of the lower 90. Hopefully I don't need a 135, so FMIC fitment can take place the weekend after inters.

Not a prob! Bring it on down!! Did I read somewhere you are changing the exhaust mani? Or did I make that up?

I'll pop it down at some point then, and you can have a look at thisdownpipe as well. I mentioned about perhaps getting mine ported but I think for the cost/hassle of getting one sent off and the added work in taking this one off and fitting the ported one, I am not sure if I can be bothered

Iirc the standard ko3 mani doesn't flow too badly anyway.

Why are we waiting! Lol when can we see pics of this pipe?

Took some pics earlier but the 3gs camera doesn't really do it any justice. I need to get some decent pics of it, but I can chuck up the pony ones for now.

Everyone wants to see your 3" pipe Reesy............. :ninja:

Right I've taken some slightly better pics, but they are limited by the camera. I'll borrow my old mans DSLR and get some good pics at inters, or if it gets fitted before hand, borrow a point and shoot camera.

Join it to standard catback which isnt going to make it 3" all the way unless he takes out the reducer as per Westy`s issue.

I'll have to get some pipework done if i wanted to get the reducer to fit with the 3" cat back, so I might as well just get the 3" pipework straight in. Need to keep the decat available for easy change as I don't know any 'friendly' MOT stations for next years MOT..
Thats his stubby 3" lol

The dp looks good mate, all you need now is to get that fitted!

Don't get jealous of my stubby 3"...

Can't see it happening before inters unfortunately, so lots to do after it.

The car has passed it's M.O.T :rockwoot:

I know it should do as it's only 10 years old and has had a lot of work done to it recently, but even so I'm a pessimist and as such thought there would be something wrong...

Now just got to get inters out the way and then get this FMIC and down pipe on.

Headlight warning symbol came on on the way to Inters, so swapped out both the bulbs for some Ultra brilliant ones from Frauds..Not sure if they are ultra brilliant but I'll find out next time it's dark and I need the car.. Also found a split hose so swapped that out for some silicone.

Just sorted the last few bits before Sunday's planned FMIC fitting.

Some majorly heavy duty brackets and 2 bolts, courtesy of S3 Dave:

I have also ordered some longer bolts, a hacksaw and some drill bits.

This also came from Dave:

Paid yesterday about 2pm, and they were here this morning. Legend.

Going to put the k&n back on (I know they aren't the best) but it's got to be better then the stock paper filter I have at the moment.

S2000 filter....

I got ripped by the pub crew for being a pikey because I mentioned the S2000 filter.. Might buy a 70 - 80mm adapter at the end of the month and give it a try, if you can get them as cheap as you say you can

I pay £10.50+vat for them! I'm getting one in for you for Saturday, I have a reducer aswell.

They come off a car with 247bhp as standard and it has o.e filtration properties. It's win all round.

Doesn't look like I have much to argue against then, does it? I'll slap the k&n on for now, and become a member of the s2000 cone club on Sat..

I don't want a *** TIP to be fitted at the same time as the cone, or I won't know what's gained what.

I'm down with that, I'll even log it for you. Workshop on sat then! I'm swapping to n/a cam on Alex's s3 there in the avo.

*** ..... one guess what that word is...

S2000 filter? hmmm.... why not

Sold! Workshop it is. Might hang around for a bit and have a look at some cam swappage as well.

*** hell.
get the *** filter on then and *** log it ok.
and buy a *** tip already

Get a *** remap, *** alignment and some more *** tyres already..

I'll get a tip, just not a necessity for the next couple of months

Exactly. And at that price, it makes even more sense
