Hey Guys / Ladies

My name is Tiaan, I stayed in johannesburg south africa and recently purchased another 8L audi, after owning the A3 1.8T and a mk4 1.8T both resulting in BT upgrades. Purchased the car about 2 months ago and realling enjoying the AWD :yahoo:.

Its a 2002 model AMK with k04-023 fitted with a full 76mm system from turbo back.

Pics of when i just received the car, fixed the small ods and ends so far, replacing missing clips and repairing broken wires.

Some updates of what have been done to the car up to date.

Removed the OEM radio and removed the aftermarket wires that had been joined for RCA ouputs and found a car kit hidding in the back somewhere lol...

Removed all of this and retaped with cloth tape to make it look OEM again.

Also removed the boost gauge the previous owner had fitted and replaced the A pillar with one form our local breakers.

and gave her a good wash, polish and wax.

Did the joey mod and have the headlights a good treament of meguairs plastX.

Replaced LCA bushes this weekend and fitted new Ferodo DS 2500 front discs.

So some updates on the vechile. Recently fitted a set of AP coilovers and really happy with them, the front still have about 15mm to go and the rear is maxed out with the perchers removed!

Also adding some yellow and black powder coated bits to the motor bay, valve cover will be done next week.

mate how did you manage to clean them with plastx as ive tried .... how much did you use and how long approx did you take to buff it?
 
I bought the actual headlight repair kit that includes the drill fitting, as i tried to polish them by hand before hand and still had swirl marks! The drill piece made it ALOT easier!
 
I don't like the large single exit exhaust.........But.......... The rest Looks awesome mate! :). Very nice
 
I like the look of them ferodo discs and the wheels,very nice
 
Nice progress, I really wasn't a fan of those alloys but seeing them on your car has changed my mind completely.

Alrighty, update time.

Also getting a OEM Blitz DTT DCIV which is a turbo timer and digital boost gauge, also has over boost warning.

And got some new Coilpack connector plugs, Previous owner decided glue was better than replacing :lol:

I redid the harness, also coated the valve cover and got a silicone TIP.

Motor bay is close to being complete, small touches this week :grin:

Gizmo, what did you use to paint the valve cover, just some Rust-Oleum? I'm tackling that job shortly...
 
I had my boost pipes, intake manifold, valve cover and strut bar powder coated.
 
Great looking car! Nice subtle changes and the engine (although not to my taste, flash/colour wise) looks jolly clean!

The RS3 reps also really suit the car! More so than I'd have thought if someone had told me before seeing photos!

Alright, Im busy doing a t3 garret journal upgrade, So i changed injectors this weekend, blocked up the water lines and changed intake gasket, Big thanks to Spuds for helping me out with some spares he had!

Hey peeps

Been some time since i've updated, had some trouble choosing what setup to run after running into some spacing issues with GT30 and top mount.

So Im currently going with a GT2871R .86 hotside, custom manifold and 76mm (3") Downpipe. Some updated pictures.

I've completed water lines, and oil inlet, just need to do Downpipe month end, oil return, Charge pipe and turbo intake.

Also fitted my front mount cooler (550x230x65)

Good work... don't forget heat shielding though... the coil pack wiring is gonna get it for a start.... anything fairly close to the hot stuff (manifold, hotside, DP etc) will suffer... decent heatshield will keep heat away from brake lines and plastic stuff...

Thanks Tuffty :icon_thumright:, downpipe will be wrapped, all pipes behind manifold have been wrapped and a turbo blanket is on its way as-well.

Really hoping for some good results, will see how the mapping goes!
 
You certainly don't hang about :)

hehe, BT just looks more appealing when looking into the engine bay, And this would be my first quattro big turbo so really excited to actually put the power down.

Some things i'ver done over the last week, ran a air duct to the bumper as I have the space now, that goes straight into stock airbox now.

Also had to relocate my heater lines for a proper intake to the top mount, Sourced two connectors from wikus and some mk2 (I think) water pimping... slight trim and came out pretty good!

Remove the oil return today, and changed oil filter. Will have it modded once I receive my oil return and Downpipe flange from Magsta :hug: . He is also making me a EGT Bung to have welded onto the downpipe. :D

Looks great matey!! I knew them rims would look nice on the car!! I parked next to an a4 with them on and imagined them looking sexy (which they do!) I never knew ferodo did them discs! Would be nice on my brembo set up!

Thanks Dani_B19! I will be doing rods but only next year, will keep my boost levels under 1.3 bar with a mild map.
