NEED SOME HELP ASAP

I NEED SOME HELP AND ADVICE.
I BOUGHT SOME ALLOYS TODAY FOR MY B8. THE ALLOYS WERE OFF A B6 A4 SO THE CENTRE HOLE WAS SMALLER THEN THAT OF MY CAR. MY RING ON THE B8 IS 66.6MM SO IV BEEN TOLD BUT THE ONE ON THE ALLOYS IS 57MM.

NOW I REALLY LIKE THE ALLOYS AS THEY ARE THE NEW RS6 STYLE DESIGN. IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN CUT OR WELD THE CENTRE HOLE TO MAKE IT FIT?
ALSO WILL THIS WEAKEN THE ALLOY??

NEED SOME ADVICE ASAP PLEASE.

Take them to a local machine shop and see what they have to say about them. I have had spiggots machined in the past to get wheels to fit they will make the decision if its safe to do so or not. DON'T attempt to do it yourself it needs to be done properly

Thanks. Thats what iv been advised.
But how am i meant to find a machine shop? Is there any around bradford?? Sorry for being a complete idiot :/

Just be very careful. If they don't know what they are doing, it could reck the rims.

It would be less hassel if you got some 15-20mm spacers and had the centre machined off the spacer!!:thumbsup:

I'm going to have to do the same with my winter wheels providing they fit over the brakes, still got to try that.

Pyeman: when you say machine the centre off the spacer do you mean the hub part? That would 't be reccomended as the wheel would have nothing to sit on!

There are lots of cars that don't have centres for wheels to sit on, if you go out and buy some big AP's or Brembo's they don't have centre's. How do you think race cars work!!!

I had BIG and I mean BIG Alcon's on my old Evo 8 FQ400 and they had no centre's. The wheel will centre up on the wheel nuts. I know loads of people doing it, its a cheap easy fix.

You'd be better having the rear of the spacers bored out to 66mm, not removing the front face where the wheel sits. That's if you're using 57mm bore size spacers. That's what I'd be doing rather than using 66mm bore size spacers and removing the front face to fit a 57mm bore wheel.

It's certainly not something i would do, i just wouldn't feel safe with it like that, especially with my wife and kids being in the car more than me. I've used spacers/adaptors in the past with very little in the way of a hub for the wheel to sit on and experienced serious vibrations through the car.

If it were me i'd get the wheels machined down!

If you try google "Precision Engineers Bradford" you will find loads of them. I'm not sure who will do it or if they can give advice on how safe it will be - I know I wouldnt advise on how likely safe the mod will be and I run a machine shop. Pick a company with a large lathe if they dont have tires fitted or a large vertical mill if they do. I imagine the bill to be £100-£150 to skim depending on their rates.
