Ok, first of all, I am in NO way saying that the B5 kit causes problems, this is just a problem I've had since I fitted mine and only just got round to writing it up.
The problem I have is only small, but really annoying and only happens every so often.
My car has a boost gauge, and it has not been mapped yet and the only mods I have are the B5 V2 TIP, jetex filter and heatshield, Forge008 DV with yellow spring.
So, with the car fully up to temperature, I'll set off on a closed road/private race track, and nail it through first and second, the car over-boosting to about 12psi and dropping down and settling at around 9psi and all is well.
Go up into third, and again it will overboost to around 11psi then very occasionally, the engine will make a hissing sound, which sounds as though it's coming from the air intake area and the boost will drop down to 5psi and stay there until I let off, and put the power back on.
The same applies for 4th, but in 5th and 6th everything is more settled.
What's happening? Any ideas?
Also, this maybe totally unrelated, but it's done it since I put the forge DV on; when I REALLY rev the car, I mean round to 7000 RPM, and change gear, I get like a warbling sound (not the same noise as compressor stall) coming from the turbo area... Does anyone know what this noise is and is it bad?
Sorry for the essay!!
