Picked up my S3 yesterday and love it already, so nice to have Quattro and turbo punch after running about in a mazda3 for a while!

Its a 2002 model with a few nice options from factory.

My to do list has already started...

A good foam, clay and clean
Upgrade to Aero wipers
Replace damaged engine trims
Replace antenna base
Replace cracked mirror case
Restore headlight lenses
Upgrade to alloy pedal set
Install cruise control
Wrap front grill
Wheels

Milltek
Map

If anyone has any parts for sale which will help, give me a shout!

Cheers.

Welcome to the site.....my fave colour :)

Very nice, and lovely colour too.

How do you plan to restore the headlight lenses? I was thinking about this the other day as mine are 'cloudy' at the top on both sides.

Meguires do a kit for about £20 that I was going to have a go with.

2000 grit wet and dry and then a machine polish works well too.

Welcome along!

Nice mule...once the bug hits you'll be spending a small fortune. Worth it though, the 8L S3 is still a cool car after all these years. I love mine.

Well one week in and I've made some progress.

The car had small oil and coolant leaks when I got it, thankfully these were easy fixes with a gasket and a seal.

The oil had been weeping so long it had almost entirely rotted the turbo intake pipe so a new one also went on.

All engine bay trims are now sorted due to a few lucky finds too.

While up on the ramps both rear springs were noticed as being broken, the car has had all new shocks in the last 12 months though which is a bonus! Whats worrying is that it had just gone though an 'alleged'MOT before I bought it but how can they miss that!?!

Ive taken it as an opportunity and ordered up the eibach spring set along with some aero wipers as the existing wipers are shocking, again how can that pass an MOT!?

Looking forward to seeing the ride height on the new springs, really want some 19's to fill the arches now too.

Got my plate on the car too. Won't be to everyone's tastes but I like it!

Aero wipers - Check
Eibach Springs - Check

Will get some pics up soon!

Welcome to the noggy club.
Looks like a nice example. Good to do list too. If your getting a Milltelk and map, might as well get a Badger5 TIP to compliment them.

I'm really trying to resist doing lots to this car as its supposed to be my daily. Problem is I love it and know how good it could be!

Life was much simpler when I had a crappy Mazda!

Revised list:

Done:

Niggles sorted
Aero wipers (F&R)
Replaced damaged engine bay trims
Eibach Springs

To do:

A good foam, clay and clean
Replace tatty antenna base
Replace damaged mirror cases / upgrade to Matt Aluminium
Replace headlights
Upgrade to alloy pedals
Install cruise control
Wrap front grill
MTM Bimotos
Milltek cat back
MTM Map

Woosh another Noggy owner! Enjoy mate. Mines has a few more niggles to sort than yours though :-(

It's my garage, I've owned the R8 for a year now and love into bits!

Yeah same here pffft who ain't got a dusty R8 sitting under covers in the corner of their garage :tumble:

It's not dusty! That's what the cover is for and don't worry it gets used as it should!

Castle Coombe, Brands Hatch, Snetterton 300, vmax and Nurburgring done in the last 12 months.

Damn thats a good colour...nearly better than black :)

Since having the eibachs fitted, I've decided I don't want to live with the adverse camber on the rear so will be getting a set of adjustable arms and geometry all done next week. New radio antenna base too as my current one is perished.

Revised list:

Done:

Aero wipers (F&R)
Replaced damaged engine bay trims
Eibach Springs
Adjustable control arms to sort the camber - my word, I can't describe how much better the handling and feel is after getting the geometry done!
A good foam, clay and clean
Replace tatty antenna base
New MAF and rear discs and pads

To do:

Replace damaged mirror cases / upgrade to Matt Aluminium
Replace headlights
Upgrade to alloy pedals
Install cruise control
Wrap front grill
MTM Bimotos
Milltek cat back
MTM Map

Dude, how much was the antenna base, and was it a difficult job to do? Mines goosed so Im looking to replace. If you know the part number too that would be SHWEET!

Snap with the Noggy by the way - i'll get my build thread going shortly!

It came from tps with a new antenna too, was about £40 but I'm OCD! No part number sorry?

Nice work! You're getting through your to do list at an impressive rate!

Also Good plate!

Had some time on my hands today and had a go at looking what a black grill would look like?

After a quick play with some insulation tape...

Looking forward to seeing the ride height on the new springs, really want some 19's to fill the arches now too.

My advice is stay off 19"s, stick with 18"s! 19"s dont do the handling any favours & you can feel the extra weight on the throttle.
I had but swapped back down to 18"s & makes the car perfect!
