Ok peeps some advice needed. White beautiful shiny A4 Dynamik? Check. Shiny gloss black 19"s? Check. Scabby looking calipers? Errr check! What colour to paint them? Black, white, red or blue? I am erring away from black....... Opinions please. Ta.

Personally I would say red with the audi brake caliper stickers (from ebay). Would stand out a treat on your car.

You will also need to let have a wee look at your stunning car when Im back home in Elgin (hopefully I will have a nice 2.0TFSI S Line by then!)
P.S. My missus has seen your car in Elgin a few times and loves it!!!!

Hi rig, im up too about 10000 miles on my Dynamik now, just been to Scotland actually near Oban and popped in at Glasgow Audi on the way back home and had a quick browse around and saw a White Manual Dynamik Avant for 31k with 6k Miles, the size of the garage + forecourt is phenomenal, and my Brake Callipers are beginning to become abit scabby and dirty and abit of surface rust is on there too, im might be thinking about taking it to the Local Bodywork garage near me to give them a good clean and paint them shiny red to match the Colour of my car which also matches well with the black wheels+girll etc ..
For your Dynamik i would say Shiny Black but only if they were shiny all the time, if the car got dirty there would be no shine and they would look abit dull, otherwise i would choose red just like me.
Hope i have helped :)

My mates got a white avant with the rs4 style wheels in black and I've told him to paint them white. He hasn't painted them at all though and they just look scabby, like mine! I'm unsure whether to do mine red or black, my car is red. I sometimes think red is a bit chavvy and tend to go for black all the time. Red works on big calipers like Porsche and the like though. It's all down to personal preference in the end though.

I think I'll do mine in Silver Smoothrite. Did my old S4 with in black and put the rings on. This time I'll do calipers and hubs and just silver to tidy it it up without making it look like I'm trying to pretend they're Porsche or Brembo's etc.

Ok so definitely not white. Just saw white brake calipers on a white Lexus IS200. Not a good look IMO. I fance red or Blue. The fill point caps in the engine are all blue and look good against the white paint.

Scottish S3. It was also beside AMDetails stand at the show and shine at the weekend displaying its immaculate engine bay. I am home most weekends. I think we need to get a local meet going of some sort.

I'm in the same predicament, i'm thinking silver or red. Has anyone any experience with the Ebay stickers, more specifically how long they last??

I just knew i could rely on the good people to assist. PINK!!!! ha ha ha my daughters would love that! I could do each one a different colour! Tartan!!!! I need Tartan paint :jester:

I've always been a fan of red calipers for some reason but the black with an Audi S Line sticker would be subtle and pretty cool too... :)

Its going to be blue with white 'quattro stickers' (Being as how its not an Sline :) ). The blue tops of the fill points in the engne bay look good against the black and white so i will match the calipers to this. Will post pics when i can be ers*d to do it.

Sounds good. I've got the blue calipers on an otherwise white and black Astra VXR at the minute (standard caliper colour) and they don't stand out at all just as a heads up...

Cheers for the update. The spokes have a lot of space between them. I want it to be subtle and not too much so the wife calls me a 'sad ****'

Red or Black.

The red will look more of a motorsport thing to me, while the black will look factory or OEM.

They are ok mate. Once applied just put some laquer over them to seal them in. I used my Girlfriends Nail stuff and worked a treat. Never came off or lifted!

:) :) the misus is going to think i'm a right edjit applying nail varnish the the car brakes :) :)

Ok so blue paint and decals ordered. Just got to 'borrow' some of my wifes clear nail varnish. Try explaining that one! Just off to the garage for a bit with some nail varnish lol! Will post the results when i get the time to to the work. At least the calipers are pretty new so cleaning wont be too much hassle. Just the steady hand thats an issue!

Good luck, I look forward to seeing how they turn out with the decals and everything as well! :)

Why not go for a Brembo brake upgrade? - Much improved braking and looks too - I did this on my Mk4 Golf a while back and it make a heck of a differnce, especially on track days!

[off topic]ScottishS3 - you sig pic shows the 19" wheels and the info says you have S-line suspension. For 2009 models Audi wasn't sellling this combination due to incompatibilities. ????? [/off topic]

Coz the braking performance is fine for the most peoples use and the object is simple to tidy up the ugly calipers and hubs. Why would anyone spend £xxxx instead of £xx ?

What do you call "much improved braking"? If I stamp on mine then I activate ABS. i.e. I'm at the limit of tyre adhesion and not braking ability? Admittedly if I drove on the road like a tw4t or did track days then repeated deep and heavy braking may expose their limitations.

It was the only signature pic I could find lol. I actually have the standard S line 18" wheels and I only found out I had the S line suspension when I got the full car details from Audi.

Personally i find for road use the Audi set up is fine. If i wanted more breaking i would change pad compound and also fluid type for track use.. A pot of paint and caliper cleaner is also a fraction of the cost pf Brembos.

Well I have painted my calipers red and it goeas well with the car, seeing as its red as well! lol
The Red really makes you realise how big the calipers are! I didn't realise how big the front ones are!!!
Just waiting to do a second coat then apply the decals.

Any tips for the painting? How did you mask off?
Yes mate rather than take the wheels off, I just masked the alloys off with masking tape and put newspaper on the inside of the alloys so there was no way paint could come into contact with the alloys. Luckily the 5 spokes I have allowed most the the calipers to be visible allowing easier access and I was able to get to all of the caliper to paint including the back. Saves all the hassle of taking the wheels off. I then just rolled the car back a tiny bit when they were dry, and did the other bits. I can't believe how big the front calipers look now. If you need a hand, let me know. I've got rolls of masking tape!

You got pictures of your red calipers on your red car? Might do mine red. I will be taking the wheels off though, surely masking them up takes longer than taking a wheel off?

Likewise. Wheels coming off. bit of masking up and then paint everywhere he he

I only masked off around one spoke as thats all the room I needed for full access to the caliper. Took 2 mins if that! Just need to put the S line stickers on the brake calipers now.
