Hi all!

I have just seen a 2009 A4 B8 2.0 TFSi Saloon for sale from a car supermarket, for £11,949 with the following spec:

Red, 66000 Miles, SAT NAV, Half Leather Interior Trim, Phone Prep, Heated Seats, Cruise Control, Electric Heated Mirrors, Climate Control With Digital Air Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, Half Leather Seats, Sports Seats, Power Assisted Steering, Traction Control, ABS, Alarm, Audio Remote Control, Multiple Airbags, Electric Door Mirrors, Folding Rear Seats, Electric Windows, Front Fog Lights, Heated Door Mirrors, RDS Radio And CD Player, Immobiliser, Remote Central Locking, Service Indicator, Trip Computer, Steering Wheel Rake Adjustment.

Does this seem a fair price? Or is the mileage a bit on the high side and maybe I should pay more for a lower mileage?

that milage is around average for the asking price. (not high miles).
in otherwords its a cheap car for an s-line.
you can try to haggle a few pennies or maybe £1k or more off the price.
try to see if you can post a copy of the advert so we can see more pics.

The garage is still waiting for the car to come in so no photos yet.
How reliable is the 2.0 TFSI with high miles (66k and more) ? Is there anything to watch out for?

Pfffft. In what universe is 66k high miles?

I think I have only ever had one petrol car with less than that, and beyond that, they have all more or less been 80+k (usually 100k+).

Seems a reasonable price for that car. Petrols are generally worth less than diesels, FWD less than quattro etc... Seems a good price for a B8 S-line though. But then again, thats 996 monies...

Just wondering if there is anything to look out for ir if anything will need replacing around or near that kind of mileage?

I decided to finally look for a 2.0TFSI over the TDi, due to the owners reviews on here, reporting that the TDI had poor mpg.

Are the Turbos strong on these cars?

Reason I'm asking is I know some makes require turbos to be replaced around this kind of mileage

With the new A4, the prices of the old one will start to drop. Never heard of turbos having to be replaced. Front brake pads at around 40k (just had mine done)

Thanks for that mate. Are there any other areas I need to look out for on a B8 A4?

Not that I can think of at the moment.

With the brakes, the front pads are quite easy to replace, so pretty much any competent person can do it. The rear however I believe requires a VAG unit to disingage the electronic brake system.

I've got a 2009 and it doesn't have stop start!
When's yours registered? What toys did you get on your new baby???? I've found it hard trying to find a decent colour/milegage/spec S-Line!!! I gave up looking in Scotland so Im using the time I have down South with work to try and find one.

It could be as MY changes happen around June normally....
If it is, I'm having it then!!!! Probably won't be knowing my luck!!!!

I have also seen a Grey (Not sure what grey yet as no pics yet!):

Audi A4 2.0 T FSi S-Line Saloon 2009 (58) 23,410 miles, £13,999 with NO extras.

from another car Supermarket.

OR the one above that is Red (Not sure what red yet as again no pics yet!):

Audi A4 2.0 T FSi S-Line Saloon 2009 (09) 66,000 miles, £11949 with: Sat Nav, Phone Prep, Heated Seats, Cruise Control

I just wonder whats the better deal????? Toys OR Less Miles????? :uhm:

I basically have this weekend to buy a car before I go back up to North Scotland where there is very little choice and what there is, is extortionate!!!

My car was registered in April 2009. Only a few extras on mine, full leather, parking plus and also has the multi spoke 18" wheels rather than the 5 spokes, look better IMO but not as easy to clean lol. I think that's the only extra's, would have liked Bluetooth and cruise but I can always buy a hands free kit and retro fit cruise.

I also couldn't find one in Scotland within my budget so travelled to nottIngham. I also considered the red one you're looking at but I was more tempted by full leather and misano paint, plus it was much further and had no pics ect. Good luck finding the right car.

For me I'd take the high miler (assuming condition is similar) as I'm a low mileage user. Within a few years the mileage would be average for the age plus I'd have £2k (about 18 months fuel) and all the toys.

Very good point scoTTy. I don't do alot of miles and Im getting a works van for the daily commute to work anyway.

Thing is......is it worth it if the Sat Nav is the 'crappy' 2G system? As the ability to play DVDs was a main reason for me.

Personal judgement call on that one.

It's not crappy. The resolution and speed on all the MMI controls is improved over a car without any satnav. I also personally hate the blank geat shift surrond on cars without the nav.

You choose :

Well I just found out the car was first registered in April 09, so I guess it will have the 2G then and no LED rear lights? :(
Still no pics but its had 1 previous owner and its an ex fleet car so they said it should have a full Audi Service History.
They don't yet have it in the garage yet so I can't even view it.

And if its got Sat Nav and Phone prep, does that mean it will have AMI and Bluetooth?
What about voice activation? Or is that an extra?

Am very glad i did as there was options i didnt even realise i was getting till i seen it, so very happy

Dealer just contacted me to confirm the spec. It has:

Misano Red Paint
DVD Sat Nav
Phone Prep
Cruise Control
AMI
Heated front seats
Model Deletion
Folding Dimming Door Mirrors
1 Owner
Full Audi Service History

What do people think? Worth putting a deposit on?

Sounds pretty nice to me! :)

Is it the same car as you mentioned in post #20? If so then I'd be pretty happy putting a deposit on that so long as the miles and engine are what you're looking for of course! ;) Options sound like it would have basically everything you would realistically need apart from maybe reverse sensors?

Yes, same car as I first post, 66k miles, £11949.
Audi told me it has the 2G Sat Nav. I was hoping for the 3G as I wanted to be able to play DVDs (obviously not when driving!).
The car hasn't come in yet, so Salesman hadn't seen it, so it might have parking sensors.
If not I could always retro-fit them

First MODs I wanna do is tint the rear windows, get black grille on, Piano Black interior trim and rear parking sensors (if it doesnt have them!).
Does anybody know where the Piano Black Interior Trim can be purchased from?

I believe the book states 120k or something like that, with no mention of time. Pretty sure I wouldn't leave it much past 80k myself though, or 5 years, whichever comes first.

Didn't they go to chains on the later engine assuming its the 211bhp unit?

If its a belt then 5 years or 60k miles roughly. Ignore the hand book!!

Congratulations! Good spec at a good price, hope it's in a condition that suits.

Im trying to upload some pics of mine for you but photobucket ain't playing the game.

I want to tint my windows aswell and change the grille at some point but top of my priority is a bit of lowering I think.

How do you tell if you have sports suspension or s-line suspension?

Cheers mate! Can't wait to pick it up. Hopefully tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Excert from the From 2009 A4 Brochure:
Sports suspension 20mm lower than Standard.
S line suspension 30mm lower than Standard.

I only found out when StuNova did a check through Audi Germany for me!
