Well lads picked this up a week or so ago,it's the first 4 pot car i've owned in quite some time,previous 2 cars were a V6 TDI A4 avant and a supercharged V6 bora,so it's good to be back in a reasonably fast petrol car (roll on remap lol)

Car is a November 2000 AMK so first of the face lifts,one owner from new in the UK and imported into Ireland this year. It's a ridiculously clean example with 137k on the clock.Wheels recently refurbed in a BMW M5 grey colour.

Since i got it i have changed the steering wheel for an R32 one and fitted a decent blue tooth headunit (waiting on the fascia to fill the gaps at sides)

My plan is to keep it pretty standard,i like the idea of having a good clean example of what is a future (maybe current?) classic.A remap,TIP and maybe spacers on the rear and i'll be happy.

Personally i love the steering wheel,the R32 wheel is so much chunkier than the S3 wheel,always felt it was a bit of a let down that an S car had practically the same wheel as most mk4 golfs and poverty spec A4's

I might try at least sort some kind of Audi decal

Yeh i agree standard Audi s3 steering wheel is xxxx I had a bottom of the range a4 51 plate a few years ago and that had same steering wheel. Prefer pre facelift steering wheel. would be a wikid mod with four rings in the middle.

Yeah i agree totally.When i first start looking at them Silver wasn't even on my radar but i really warmed to it.Noggy blue or red were my first choices,then i seen a Merlin purple one! drool....

Its the exact same colour as my old s3 which was avus and is not to dissimilar to my avus rs4 (rs4 is more gray/blue pearl)

Paint code is Ly7w - not up on audi silvers,it's a nice silky kind of silver though.

Fitted 20mm a side H&R spacers on the rear and 10mm a side on the front,also fitted 2 new D2S bulbs,who said the bumper had to come off for that ?

Here's how it's sitting now on spacers (20 mm a side H&R on rear and 10 mm a side on front) - not a great pic.

One of my glove box hinges broke (common problem as im sure you all know) so i had one of the guys in work to knock up some pieces of metal the same shape to act as brace as there was no point in bonding them,these are held in place with small rivets,did both hinges while we are at it.

Mmmm seats... lol

Engine bay pic with forge TIP fitted,was a ***** to fit (with my skill set) but the difference is unreal.

Also fitted cruise control,a headlight inspection cover and one xenon level sensor,also ordered 2 of these from Renault,will update after fitting...

Update time..

Finally got around to do doing a job that was annoying me since i got it,and turned out to be a complete Bo$%ox to do.You will all know what i'm talking about lol

First off bumper off,or half off - enough to get headlight out,disconnected and away from the car.

The old and new clips,the new ones are well made and won't be breaking anytime soon.

You remove the self leveling motor and have this little hole to get the broken clip and screw out through and the new one in.Trouble is the new fitting is bigger than the hole lol so you need to put in through the main the bulb replacement opening and line it up (a pig) and then get the crew (thank you magnetic bits) down and lined up.

Trial fitting of new one to motor,first..

and new fitting in place...

Then you have to get the motor in place,and slide it into the new fixing almost blind.It is at this point you realise that the motor needs to be extend fully to reach the damn thing,so you need to connect the headlights up again and cycle the motors via VCDS - while cursing modern things

Lights are now working perfect and go up and down with the self leveling function.Like i said small thing that was annoying me,pig to fix
