Thanks Schlaag

Good work fella i do like these bargian hunting friends :)

Quick Question :

Was looking on part box and came across this :

Blk Ind Kit Audi S3 - PartBox Performance and Tuning Parts

Its a Jetex induction kit for the 8L but is £5 cheaper than the 80mm filter on its own no worried about the colour but does anybody think it will work with the B5 V2 tip?

Hmmm not sure about that one as there is not much info on it, im assuming that may be the panel filter version.

Chris

For the sake of a fiver, I would just go with the JR blue... it's a known quantity.

Could be worth a punt though I guess. Perhaps give them a ring and ask for measurements/see if its exactly the same bar colour. ( i would prefer black though in all honesty! )

hmmm interesting, google the product code.. looks like a specific S3 cone filter with angled rubber neck to go direct on to the MAF housing rather than a generic 80mm neck one, RRP seems to be £75 so looks a bargain... id grab it! infact I want it now.... will angle perfectly for OEM airbox fitment!

According to the Jetex website there are no pics but you get as filter and all the connectors etc to fit it.

the only pic i can find is from the classified section on here as someone was selling a blue one :

Classifieds: Jetex S3 induction kit

Yeah i am happy to go with the JR Blue but just wondered what the induction kit may consist of and maybe it if the filter is a bit smaller it might be easier to conceal inside the airbox

Sounds good either way so for the money i will grab it and see what happens :)

I think its going to be a lot smaller than the usual one, looking at it a bit more. No dramas getting that in the airbox!

Good Good :)

Also looks like it comes with a bracket to fit to the end of the filter and attach to the car for added stability. So i can cut a hole in the bottom of the air box and fit that to the body somewhere.

Looks like i have a mini project to do.....

Just been confirmed by email that my induction kit has been posted today and looks like it was the last one as they dont have any stock on their website now.....

Will update once it arrives :)

Quick pic of the S3 Jetex induction kit that arrived today :

Looks nice the fiter is bigger than i expected plus its blue (colour coded FTW) and still has the chrome end cap. Even got a free key ring and sticker lol

Gonna fit it in a bit quickly. First off will fit it as is without the airbox and then will possibly modify the airbox for the stealth look as it has an angled neck on the filter which may make it easier.

Then will look at getting some sort of cold air feed to it.

Very straight forward to fit and gave the MAF a quick clen whilst i was at it.

Been for a quick blast and defo get a little more noise of air moving around and can hear the 007p working. For £35 delivered defo one of my best bargain finds :)

No probs and of course thanks to Schlaag for the original info :)

Well done mate, looks good! a wee thing too, you will have no probs fitting the std airbox around that.

Good job/find!
quick pic of mine (the generic one) for comparison

Yeah it does look alot easier to fit mine iside the Box might not even have to cut much but will see...

Although i am quite liking the noise of the setup as it is at the mo so may just look into making/finding a heat shield for it as is :)

Also in regards to air flow etc first off if you do fit it inside the OEM box for a stealth look does that not restrict its ability to draw in air from all round the cone? secondly in regards to getting cols air to the cone the hole in the wing that the OEM setup uses i could make something to feed more directly to the cone filter, would that help? or should i look at running something from the front of the car with some ducting to make like a ram air feed?
