hi guys, well i found this engine its full disassembled thus doing the job for the mechanic and will cost less in labour already on the plus side i can also keep my current engine :p, and thought to myself it would be cheaper if i changed the head pistons rods and crank and stroke it to a 2008cc engine instead of taking my healthy engine out and having the car off the road for a while..its says price negotiable so i can possibly negotiate it down to 400$ which is really nothing.

TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!!!......her is the link

IE's one is the last and is quite dear and will need cams too

I text him to see if it had sold - was going to see what you were doing... I'm going to hang out for an AGU and fit the GT2871R for now and rebuild when it bends a rod ;)

ouch why do that when you have the head off just take the crank off too and change the rods mate

im still at odds at which head to use though AGU is none VVT no ? or am i misinformed ? and the AEB is

Why am I taking the head off? Seb ran the GT2871 on his engine on standard rods for 40k without any issues. I know it's running the gauntlet a bit but it's got a bit to do with how its mapped and driven...

well Sam mate i went to inspect the block today the pistons are obsolutely STUFFED slight bend rod i think on cylinder 2...and the block which was my main concern was Foooked to hell seriously even ****** machining the block and honning it i think would work to roughly 3,000th... cause the stroked pistons are 83mm bore compared to std is 81mm and needed some serious work... i called 3 different mechanics including awesome gti they said for that price its not even worth it.. the engine missed its timing .. the head where the valves are is GONE! machining wont help.. and that inturn killed the pistons and deformed them big time.. which then as the pistons when up and down on the cylinder walls it scratched the bore so its not worth it.. wasted 1 hour of my time and the blokes time wasnt too happy lol..

i dont even know if its fixable as i want the block to be perfect for a strocker fit the scratch i think is possible 1-2mm deep a straight line on i think cylinder 1-2.

Sam i would seriously advice you of not going there and picking it up its not good mate..

ill post pics not sure they are clear though

I wouldn't have gone and bought it without checking with you that you wanted it first anyway. That would have been a bit harsh :/ Sounds like it's not worth getting then. Shame. I'll keep an eye out, I'm not in any real rush really...

yeah mate it was a really bummer to be honest, though i talked to mike from Awesome gti... he will arrange me a stroker kit amk block with an AGU head mind you the honing and machining the block will only cost 60pounds for a head skim... and the bottom then each cylinder for 60 pounds so to machine it all up around 300ish.. turned out cheap to awesome will build the entire engine and use supertech for the head and ship it i think shipping will be 360pounds ill be spending roughly 3000pounds but ill tell you what its cheaper and better then what we get in OZ...then all it is , is taking it to seb in botany and do the engine swap and remap and she is all set up mate.
