ok so i have just joined this site as i am about to get an 08 a3 1.6 (im 18 so insurance is too high for tfsi or a bigger engine) in grey.

i am planning to get these wheels Rotiform NUE Wheels for Audi A3

i am also going to drop it at least 35mm but i was wondering wether it is better to do coilovers or go all the way and get an airride kit?

please give me some ideas.

:salute: thanks

Hi Daniel, welcome to ASN. Have a read through the faqs threads, lots of info in there. Hope you enjoy the forum. :) x

I got insured on a 2.0 TDi for the same price as a 1.6 at 18 mate, just saying :)

Well go for eibach sportline or H&R springs they are very good loads of people on here use them.
save you some money unless that is no issue for you

If you're only dropping 35mm go springs don't go and shell out for air on a 1.6 I traded my 1.6 for my s3 so you won't be long in the car 1 to 2 years

But then Jason's gone all out on his 1.6TDI, better off with coilovers, have you seen Warren's on NUEs?

^^ personally i think that looks ridiculous, the car needs to be practical aswell as stylish, i personally think if you have coilovers or drop itthat much, you might aswell be driving a corsa sxi with bodykit. It conpletely takes the class from audi and resembles a 17 year old boyracer .. But thats just my opinion obviously :D

i agree 100%... boy racer written all over it. spoils the audi

Its on air ride, so has more practicality than you can ever imagine.

At the press of a button it can suit Warren's height, Danny's height or Lewis' height.

That is the beauty of it

So if i'm right is riding on air just pnuematics? And it can be easily adjusted? If so that makes it a little better but as for the look of bumper to floor, i'm not a fan

I'd imagine that's just his "parked" setting - as soon as he wants to exit the car park he can pick whatever ride height he wants (as N8 said).

Thats exactly right, you can get manual management or digital. It's very clever stuff, so whilst your driving your lowered car with your parents in the back and he's scraping everywhere, he'll be ballin about with no rubbing as he can adjust his height inside the car at the touch of a button.

Air was the best thing I ever did the car.

Hence why Lamborghini's have a variation of it fitted on the front suspension so they can clear speed humps, brilliant idea just a bit pricey still.

cheers dude... :ninja: lol the a3 goes back soon, so I gotta have something to roll about in :D

Get some pics up when you get it mate, that'll help the suggestion process:) If you spend too long on here, eventually you'll have the modding bug soo bad, things like this will be taking place http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/159272-what-ive-been-upto-lots-pics.html and this http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-...-akoyas-a3-build-panoramic-roof-retrofit.html
You'll need deep pockets, though - and a massive pair of balls:yes:

As for Alex... well I think 100mph must feel like moving through treacle to have got to this stage http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/106134-time-build-thread-big-turbo.html :rockwoot:
