Hi all! What is the best way to tell if alloys are reps or genuine? I understand that this has been asked before but I am not sure what I am looking for on this specific alloy? I believe they are off a 2003/53 Audi A3 2.0 TDI Sport but am not quite sure if they were from audi or have been replaced since production. Thought I would ask if theres anything distinctive to look out for before I posted photos as I haven't uploaded photos here before. Any help would be appreciated, cheers guys

Or if anyone could point me in the direction of a related thread that would be awesome

I very much doubt they'd be original as Audi didn't do the A3 with them wheels. You can spot fake RS4's from a mile away, the never seem to look right. Apart from that the best way to check would be to get one of the wheels off and have a look at the back.

Thanks Sheikh. Description of them is RS4 18’’ 7 double arm, I have them off now Im sure it says 8J on the back? Will check soon just at work atm

They aren't genuine then as A3's are fitted with 7.5J wheels from the factory however they could still be genuine but from an A4 or TT....

To check if any wheels are genuine then look for the Audi part number on the rear of one of the spokes of any wheel. The part number will start 8P* *** ***

I have been helped out on this before. There will be a raised rim around the edge of the wheel on OEM. And also a wider gap between the sets of spokes. The centre area will be larger.....hard to describe. They will just look chunkier and look a bit more solid if you know what I mean.

Here is a Genuine one off the car, and a rep on the car........

See, there is a bit of a rim sticking out on the genuine and the centre is a bit bigger because of the gaps.

Thanks a lot for your help guys, think Sheikh is right they just dont seem to look right and they have more of a reflective (?) finish rather than the matte (ish) effect so Im convinced they are replicas. Anyway... Have just bought some very special rimz and am starting to get the mod buzzing feeling haha! Will post pictures soon!!!

I have replicas and tbh it is very minimum dif and dont think its worth the extra for genuine ones
