Original Audi number plate LED's that fit the A3 8P - plug & play!

order them yesterday at Newcastle Audi and won't be ready in 2-3weeks time.
lol, i've ordered mine yesterday, and they are already here. just need to pick them up.

why so long?

I got mine last week. Ordered 1 day and came the next! Great plate lights, no more faffing with led bulbs! :)

ok...picked them up. had some issues with fitting but at the end managed to make them work without errors on DIS. i've noticed that the contacts are little shorter than a3/s3 ones and i had to straighten angled ends of contacts to make them reach to the cars contacts, it took me few times to get them right, also they must be screwed tight otherwise it could show error. after that everything worked well :D
looks good.

i have the highest ce for 09's in my car and im fitting mine tonight i will let you know how i get on

I think as a rule of thumb if the 10th digit on your vin plate is a number they will work, if it is a letter then they will throw up the error. To help find your 10th digit, the 7th and 8th digits are either 8L or 8P.

led work OK without errors on DIS
only if coding good
I have MY12 and work,

Any chance you could elaborate on that, maybe a screenshot ?
I know this is the case with LED puddle lights but not found a setting for number plate lights.

you dont have this in VCDS

because ross tech dont open this bit

only can to put all byte

work only from 0651 and newest

I can make code just need long code from car BCM

Confirmed fitted to A4 B7, worked fine but threw the dash error .. Sorted with resistors now all working fine with no error.

Darn, checked my VIN and 10th digit is a letter 8P1A :(

Plugged straight into my 57 plate 8P2, no errors both work fine, look great too. Make sure they are screwed in nice and tightly

Just got mine today in the post from Stoke Audi for my 56 reg Sportback and they even included 2 new screws which I asked for as my original screw heads were badly worn. I had real trouble getting one of them off, but got there in the end. Sadly I have stratched the plastic surrounding trim slightly, however the new lights look great. I had retro LED bulbs before and the Audi bulbs give a slightly purer white glow compared to a slightly bluey white of the retros.

The new holders clicked into place notrelying at all on the screws compared to my old ones which didn't sit flush.

I am really pleased and glad I forked out the extra few £££ even though I'd already upgraded from the original yellow bulbs.

It's hard to get a true colour balance in the photo, but this is pretty close.

You'll be pleased with the 'glow' at night when it gets dark ;)

Clearly see the need just to open out the prongs a tad (second photo).
Being as the led's are for the A5 number plate light, the housing must just be that bit narrower.

So the part number is 4H0 943 021 and 4H0 943 022? Do I just call audi and then pick them up?

finally found the right screwdriver for them screws after three attempts
done half and they are working great

Just tried this no joy :sob: The right one seems to work sometimes. When I start the car, it dies, and I get a warning. Any ideas? 53 plate

make sure the contacts are making a good contact with the contacts in the car

How? As soon as I clip them in, I can't adjust anything

Take them out again and turn them upside down on a flat surface and compare the old light against the new led one's.
Your'e looking at the difference in height of the prongs - just prise them out a bit so they compare against the old.
About an eighth of an inch should do it.
Clip them back in again they should now make a proper contact within the housing on the car.

Same again :( I think they sold me a faulty left light. What can I use to test if it's working?

Take the left one out again and double check the height is correct once more.
Also check they are seating flush and do click into place.
You could possibly check the left one in the right hand holder just to see if it does actually work.
