car is up for sale now. after massive discussions with my dad and the Mrs. i have decided to sell the Audi. Dont want to, as i have just had the engine sorted. and have spent a small fortune on it in the last 3 yrs or so.

just want to say thanks to EVERYONE on here for helping me solve problems out, especially with the garage that ruined my crank all because of a shot turbo.

I have no idea what car to get once this has gone. havent seen anything that takes my fancy. misses keeps going on about getting an S4. (and she is moaning how much the S3 costs to run). shows how much women dont no. am thinking maybe an 8P A3 diesel, or a golf Diesel. or i may jump back on the company car scheme at BMW and get the new 3 series coupe for a few years of trouble free and hassle free driving.

going to be utterly gutted to see it drive away with a new owner.

some people will think im stupid for selling up now, after all the effort and money. i kind of think the same, but realisticaly if i want to save and move out, i need something better on mpg now. (never thought id care about mpg either).

also, am open to ideas for a replacement car. doesnt HAVE to be diesel. just something with a bit of class and an average mpg of more than 28.

Sorry to hear the S3 having to go, I don't envy you I'd be guttted. How about a 2.5 TDi Quattro A4 as a replacement? They go very well when remapped and 40+ MPG

Still seems a shame to be selling up. Never thought I'd actually do it.

good luck mate.
Was looking for an A4 2.5 tdi before i found my s3.
I looked at a few, mapped the torque is fantastic, ones with an s line kit looked beautifull, they feel massive inside.
Nearly grabbed one, but realised it wasnt quattro and i needed a quattro.
Around town the mpg is slightly better than an s3 but on a run 40 to 45 mpg can be had with a steady foot.
But diesel is more expensive so around town no better than an s3

cheers mate, yeah i know. well my ad is up on auto trader for 6 weeks, and ive said to the mrs, if it doesnt sell then im keeping it for another few years.

had two silly offers so far and thats it. im not im a rush to sell either, am really loving it. sounds epic when on boost.
