Any body had the cam failure warrenty done???

As the title says, wondering if any one on here knows about the extended warrenty audi has given to suspect vehicles with the cam follower wearing and doing damage to the cam.

Apparently audi are replaceing damaged items under a 120,000 miles or 10 years warrenty program ??????

Im ringing audi on my break today, far as im aware if you are showing signs of wear or damage they are replaceing with no cost.

The vin number affected are as follows.

A4 2005-2007 VIN range
WAU___8E_5A405683 to WAU___8E_7A284778

A4 Cab 2007 VIN range
WAU___8H_7K013458 to WAU___8H_7K037815

A3 2006-2007 VIN range
WAU___8P_6A000150 to WAU___8P_7A227907

Rang audi dealer today and audi uk about this issue and neither one recons they have heared of the problem before.

Audi main dealer said to me that before they would even consider looking into the problem that i had to pay for full service with them!!!! Now im not really to legally educated but surely that illegal what they are bribing me with??!!!!
Im a tech for a merc specialist so i do all my own work and my service book is fully stamped up so what difference does it make what garage has serviced it so long as it has been serviced!!! I was fuming with them!!!

Any way after bollocking audi uk and report what the dealer had claimed to me, they have opened a case file so when i hear anything back i will report it. I think this one is going to be a fight though unlike the injector issue.

Don't know nothing about the issue but having your car serviced at a VAT registered garage still enables you to keep your warranty

They may try and pass blame though saying wrong oil was used and such things like that so hopefully you have a receipt for all parts used in the service you have done

Firstly, Audis warranty is 60,000 miles or three years whichever comes first so I am not sure where this 120,00 mile or 10year warranty programme comes from?

Secondly, the injector issue was only covered by AUDI following a motion by VOSA that injectors failing was potentially dangerous and could cause accidents/ loss of life ?

Thirdly, All us poor sods with Oil Pump/ Balance Shaft failures have been reminded by Audi there warranty is as per item 1 herein and that we have no grounds for a claim .

Finally as a result of 1-3 inclusive above Audi will VERY VERY likely ignore any issue.

Am i being negative here, do i need therapy ?

U.S and Canada as far as I'm aware. I mailed Audi customer service to ask about this and got a phone call from an arrogant advisor that refused to give me their full name, apparently it's not an issue in the U.K so we wont benefit from the 120k warranty extension here.

ehy paul we must of got the same guy, its just total **** the problems with the cars, any way this is the last straw for me, its now being traded in, this is the last diesel i will ever buy.


so disapointed audi, your looseing customers every day for problems you wont even stand by.
