S3 spotted testing at the ring

Liking the front and the tailpipes, but the back is awful, and the lines make it look too high at the rear. Hopefully it'll get a few tweaks before it hits production. Not liking the square filler cap either. Hope it grows on me, I want to like it.

Not liking the mirrors back on the doors. Be back to the bent doors if people try to rip them off.

Way too high. Looks like a bog standard car IMO. Hopefully within time they'll beef it and make it more aggressive looking. Bit of a let down really.
Guys this is just an A3 with the new S3 guts, the only thing that gives it away is the twin exhaust, absolutely everything is standard A3.

That's the s-line front I think. Not really feeling the sides of the front bumper, looks very "aftermarket" to me.

Do you people not recall the first pics of the RS3 when it was undergoing testing at the Nurburgring?
If not, let me refresh your memory: It was simply an S3's body with the engine and other prototype components from the RS3 in place of the stock items. This is the same deal, i.e. new S3 components inside the shell of an S-line 8V A3.
How do I know this for sure?
1) It looks identical to the S-line 8V A3, aside from the cutout diffuser housing an extra set of dual exhaust pipes.
2) No attempt at camouflaging like Audi does with every other new model.

You'll be waiting a while- traditionally Audi only launch an "RS" model when they are near the end of a particular platform's life - that's why the RS3 came out at the end of the 8p chassis' development cycle.. It won't be out for a while yet (if at all) so the S3 will remain the top of the new MQB platform pecking order for at least the next couple of years minimum..

Another one of these threads? THAT'S NOT THE 8V S3, just S3 running gear under a normal S-Line body. Car makers the size of Audi DO NOT EVER run undisguised prototypes ahead of official launches. Ever!
