You know Kev, I honestly think the car looked better on the Ronal Turbo's, or the big Audi rims before you painted them yellow.

As it it now, it just looks like it's trying a bit TOO hard, it's lost the subtle class it once had.

Well if we's whoring........ KW v1's on Avus III's - PCD adapters 20mm front, 25mm rear.

As nice as everyones car is, none of those until Kevs yellow s3 have any stance whatsoever!!! (though allowance for prawns as his is a track car!) theyre just nice cars with wheels fitted.

stance is all about getting the tyre and wheel fitment just right and getting the car sitting perfectly

and before you ask, i havent got stance on my car (yet)

Thats all just a matter of opinion really!!! If you like the "air ride , wheels up in the arches and more camber that the tower of pisa" that's fine. Personally I like to see some rubber and a near to flush fittement. Each to their own dude.
Anyways let's see yrs then ;)[/FONT]

I really don't get all this "stance", "poke" scene ****e. Stance is how something stands, poke is what I do to the mrs...

The definition is stance is actually...'the way in which something/someone stance or posture'...I can't see how none of the above do not have a 'stance' based upon this criteria.

I agree that they are all nice but equally so, all have a nice stance that it suitable to their users requirements, be it track, show or fast road. Stance will always suit purpose.

Mines boring black!!! Like this blue but prefer oem nogaro.

I bet that wrap wasn't cheap, it was £220 for my van to be sign written with a few letters and a phone number!

Damo runs his own wrapping company so he did it himself. Just had to pay for the material.

BTW I'm not havin a dig at black cars before anyone wants to lynch me. I was just having a little pop at Damo, he loves it ;)

I couldn't agree more :arco:

As soon as you lose any part of the wheel and tyre I lose interest..

these 'scene' people **** me off.
get a grip.
most of us here have useable functional cars that hold the road pretty dam well!
a balance of function and form is what makes a great car

Agreed. I dont see the point if you can't drive the car to its potential.

It's a case of each to his own though.

if people want to make there cars into one of victoria beckhams shoes then fair enough.
but remember, she can hardly walk in them.
so people shouldnt critisize those of us who can run, fast!

Lol!

Im sorry but what a load of ********...

Does my head in treating cars like its a fashion item... It isn't, it's fine to have them looking smart, but really cannot the point of modifying a car for all show and no go!

How come this thread has turned into a slanging match about how cool it is to stay static and up in the air and rave about how you can drive fast and your car must be so much quicker then one that has 'stance'? The op asked for stance not power Willy wagging.

My cars like all on here its not a std car and tbh its probably tuned more then quite a few other then the big turbo guys. I have it all looks and go, question how many people slagging air have ever been in a air ride car?? Belive me you can have 'stance' and power. Although it wouldn't be track day suitable and its not as good as coilovers to be fair but its better then std.

my opinion of sone of the cars posted is that some look pretty smart but some not so smart. I'm not going to ***** about them though I'll leave that to the ***** whores of this stuck up forum who don't like change and still think there cheap old Audi means there better then a ford owner haha

eek. I think this all got a bit nasty a bit quickly!

Kev, I wasn't slating your car, i still like it, and have a HUGE respect for all the work you've put in to it. Just for me, it was at it's best on the big OEM audi rims when they were black / polished. it's cool now, but clearly very 'show car' and hasn't quite got the mass appeal it did before. More Niche audience.

I think people got upset about DK slating everyones stance. it's a word that's horribly miss-used to be fair, like the word attitude in a more general sense. Everything has attitude, be it good, bad, or indifferent, yet 'he's got an attitude' is taken to mean a bad attitude. The term 'stance' doesn't mean stance any more, it refers to a certain kind of wheel fitment / image confirmity.

All cars have stance in the very sense of the word. Reverse rake is a stance, nose down is a standard. 100% standard is a stance even, a crap one yes (sorry!) but it's a stance none the less.

lol i did come on here earlier to reply to your previous comment but got carried away.

i do agree with you in an essence about my previous looks, i really loved the ronals but after i had the car sprayed and smoothed they just didnt work anymore they needed the lines of the original bodywork, i thought they'd suit it better once smoothed but they did'nt so i chopped them in for the speedlines which again imo looked better and also when they were crackle black were better then yellow. the trouble i have though is your right my s3 is no longer my daily and i basicaly have it as a show car now so things are a little different, when i had the speedlines black ste lockley had his lm's black so i went yellow both turned up at Ultimate Dubs last year and had yellow centres :banghead:
so this year i wanted to change to monoblocks they were silver when i got them but just didnt look right so thought id stick with yellow which was my plan when i brought the landrover alloys. Turns out this year me and lockley managed to not go down the same route :yum:
thats my issues as there are 3 yellow s3's on the show 'scene' and its trying to not be the same or apper to copy each others even though thats not the case.
I do have plans for next year so dont worry should look a bit less Trying :beerchug:
