After a too long a think, I'm definately going to drop my car, so which is better H&R's or Speedlines. I'm looking for 40-50mm drop, so both do that job but which are best for look and ride?? also who the best to buy from?

I would recommend the Eibach Sportlines, but I am a bit biased.
Reasons for me choosing them over H&Rs:
1) Eibach drop 50mm at the front and 40mm at the rear, giving a more even arch gap. H&R drop 50mm all round which gives reverse rake (bigger arch gap at the front than the rear).
2) Eibach are a softer/less firm ride than H&R.
3) If you want to upgrade your shocks at a later day then you can match them with Bilstein B8 shocks, which effectively means you've got the well matched Bilstein B12 kit.
If you plan on fitting the springs yourself then you're probably best buying online from DPM or GNJ on here.
But if you are going to pay to have them fitted then you should see if you have an AMD near you and they will supply/fit/align the Eibachs for £300 in total, which is a bargain seeing as the springs alone are about £160.

Im using h&r on my quattro, the combo of ride comfort and handling
is excellent, ive also used eibachs which were about the same imo

Sportlines are the lower range kits from Eibach so offering that amount of drop on a Quattro wouldn't get TUV approval.

Damians service is fantastic, not sure if you saw my thread recently but the pictures will give you a really good idea of the ride height.
I ordered my springs from Damian and they were sent exactly to my requirements but he held them instock pretty much ready for next day delivery.

Most of the pics are in the thread but that was literally 2 days after fitting. Iv noticed now throughout the week the front has settled more so if possible ill take more snaps.
I fitted them at my mechanics with aid but the fronts were a complete and utter nightmare! Rears on the lift took maybe 10 mins....The fronts took nearly 2 hours as the drive shaft bolts were SOLID, we could not remove them and even broke a breaker bar. (Impact Gun) would not remove them.
My cars an 08 so i was surprised to see how solid they were, They didnt look like they were rusty but just really tight guessing they have not been opened since it was built at the factory.
I would suggest getting the fronts fitted at a garage with access to a lift as it made it alot easier when having the shock pulled out form the hub assembly.

cheers lad! has the front dropped slightly further then? yep a good side pic of the stance would be great fella.
also i've had a 3 door about 3 1/2 years ago but can't remember if the interior light is 1 module or 2 like my sportback. just costs together for a possible new 3 door.

I have sat in one and been for a drive, nice engine as well. I prefer petrols and on book the tfsi units quicker but the 140 TDI is alot more economical. Since remapping mine i do struggle to see over 35mpg now.
i've driven both too. as said i like the petrol over the diesel but don't think there is must between them unless you really push it. my sb is standard and i still only get around 35ish mpg, therefore tdi is looking favourable if i change.

If you want the lower option go for the Sportline springs and if you want something a little more subtle go for the Pro springs. Out of the H&R 50mm and Eibach Sportline 50mm/40mm I'd personally go for the Eibach kit.

Hey fella, I think mine are still settling and its been two weeks. I noticed the rears sat correctly straight away as they are seperate to the shock so generally the weight just sits on them so they stay fixed.
The front needs to settle a bit as its a bit reverse rakey at the moment. Id say maybe 1000 miles before you notice they have settled quite a fair bit.
I am very happy with them, Comfortable over all speed bumps in london with no scraping on the front bumper etc yet. The ride is also miles better than the S Line set up. I found the sline crashy considering the car was very high before. I would say ride comfort is alot more smoother over nice smooth roads on bad pot holes its about the same.
The springs really do help with cornering and handling though before the car felt to soft on corners i wouldnt get any feedback and sometimes it would slip out under spirited driving.
After lowering you get alot more feedback so you know if the cars going to let slip etc.

Got my Sportlines fitted, pita job. Stupid Nyloc and Allen Key heads. Why Audi cant use flats on the back of droplinks i dont know.

Yeah prety much. Rears maybe a bit low, but only in comparison to the fronts. So if the fronts drop a bit more, or if rear spacers fix it, im a happy camper.

Well thats still 25 mm front i think ? 10-15mm rear?
Do they not all end up the same height anyway? I mean 50 mm on a base model, 35mm on a sport, and 25mm on a sline, should all end up -50 from base?
