Show us your dyno reading!

Yep it was a fair transformation, really fun now... and really dont think id be wanting to much over the 300 mark if my 280 is anything to go by... The map has been on there for 7 weeks and it still makes me smile... Plus nick loaded on Launch control which is sweeeeeeet!

Your graph says 255bhp

At the wheels :)

Launch control is dead simple, below speed X (15mph i think), the rev limiter is lowered to 4800revs (approx)... so you can keep your foot flat... Also another nifty feature is that the rev limit is lowered when cold... so you cant nail it until its upto 90... although this did catch me out at first.

I'm liking the sound of these little things that can go on maps. I'll be looking for a custom map soon to maximise my new hardware :eyebrows:

I'm looking forward to seeing that. Nice that someone has re-ignited this thread.

I've been having my custom code tinkered with and am running very lean top end. I've ordered an inline fuel pump to sort the problem. Now running 314lb torque but bhp is topping out at 295. We reckon it'll be about 320 once the fuel pump goes in. Will post the map next week once the fuel pump is in.

stage 2 from rtec - xs power down pipe and manifold, welly cooler, v1 badger 5 tip and jetex filter

not as much as it could have, but slightly tired turbo gives me a good safe rod protection system :)

Good result. Well done.

What's the cause of this Jim? Knackered standard fuel pump?

The stage 3 hybrid and the xs power mani we reckon. The standard fuelling is just not man enough to deliver what is required to deliver what we can and want to deliver within very acceptable levels of the components.

We adjusted the map to provide nice linear torque/bhp delivery and at the top end the fuel just starts to run too lean, the mani runs ways too hot and the power tails off.

However, the torque is much stronger with only minor effect on bhp. The new pump goes on next week with cruise control and facelift steering wheel. Then, hopefully, I'll be finished with this modding lark for a while.

I have to say the drive is immense and will have to start turning up to some meets. It seems to have spent more time on the ramps than on the road and I'm just enjoying being back in the saddle.

Logged AFR and EGT's recently? That looks a lot like the graph I got from Jabba, it turned out they'd just turned the boost up and not the fuelling causing it to run dangerously lean, my old map for reference:

http://www.david.barber.zen.co.uk/S3/Power_Report.pdf

I have never logged the AFR and EGT's, but I get the feeling I should.

I will try have a look at the VAG.COM page to find out how to do this. I have the lead and software , but have never used other than to clear fault codes

Do it ASAP mate. I had a lean stage 1 map that caused a lot of damage :(

I will do! Especially as I am about to add a 3" downpipe and decat at the end of the month.

I will get the results up for all to view later on, thanks

Looks like AFRs of between 13-14 on boost which is a bit lean. Ideally you want 12s.

To work out the AFR times the Lambda figures by 14.7.

Hi Westy

Thanks for the quick response, but what would be my best option to resolve this?

Not sure I fancy driving back to Peterborough as it is now 2 plus hours from me, therefore can another supplier overwrite this map and make the correct adjustment to the AFR's

Wait for the comments from Tuffty and Bill as they're the experts but those logs do look lean to me. I'll did out my old stage 1 graphs in the morning so we cancompare the AFRs.

Any map should be able to over write the existing map unless you can fine somewhere with a dyno that can adjust the Jabba code or add fuelling using unisettings which adjusts the data directly on the ECU.

I had a chippedUK map then had it over written with a revo stage1 then revo stage2!

Thanks guys!

Probably not help by the fact I have filled up with standard unleaded for the last few tanks and it was tuned for the higher octane V-Power.

is this mapped?
fuel request is a little lean as said... but its not std either.. (0.953) so some more has been asked for.
On k04's, which need a lot of cooling, I try and run them in the 0.82 level from a 0.88 start point....

What are you looking for tho? Does it drive ok?

Hi Bill

Yes my S3 is mapped to a Stage 2 spec with cone filter and I have had no issue with driving other than a slipping clutch which is being changed next week. I added my Jabbasports dyno map and the vibe was that the boost may have been increased and that the fuelling may not have been adjusted! So I logged my findings to see if the AFR was about right or too lean, which it seems to be.

If this is running too lean, then what would be your advice to remedy this issue

Thanks in advance

Ian

Its not suprising that your clutch slipped, that graph suggests its running 313lb/ft torque!

check its block 001 and 031 and 118 to see if its having to add fuel to maintain its fuel request.... and if the 001% is low, the request is in the map... and if you wanted it richer, then the map would need altering to ask for it.
lamfa and kflbts maps

did you have this mapped yourself or a previous owner?

I had the mapping done by Jabbasport back in 2008. I can't think of anything I have changed that should affect the tuning except a Milltek non resonated cat back exhaust.

As for the logging should I do the old 3rd gear 2k to redline test to get these figures as with the previous logs Bill? thx
