Hi all. Fitting my Coilys 2mz and wanted to know what adjustable tie bars everyone uses. Looking at forge Motorsport items but they aren't very wallet pleasing at that price! Will get some pics up when I stop being such a cave man and work out how to post them on here! Cheers.

hmm well u got the neuspeed ones and the forge ones .... they dont come cheap..

Have a word with s3dave on here...

I have KW tie bars on mine

<tuffty/>

There's quite a few out there n I think you'll be looking at between £200-300 for a pair. I'm going to make my own using the standard tie bars.

Cheers fellas. Was waiting on my brother making me some but as he is rebuilding his golf rallye and my over bothers 20v t mk1 golf I'm clearly going to be waiting a while. Will have a look at kw as that's the coilovers I have. Will also have a look at neuspeed items as well. What's s3dave's turn around time and price like??? Cheers chaps

Hi - I see you've fitted Porsche brakes - I'm looking at a set of 996/997 S2 4-pots for front and rear but don't have a clue whether they'll fit straight on... any advice about yours?

I really don't understand why the adjustable tie bars are so ridiculously expensive for what they are! I bought KW ones for my old s3 and I think I paid about £185 for them but that was about 2 and half years ago, since then they've rocketed in price. At the end of the day is only a simple threaded collar in the middle of the bar, why does that warrant a stupid price tag???

I may be buying some coilovers for my s3 this week so I'll be in the Market for a set of toe rods myself, so I'm intreged to know about the s3dave bars, does he modify the original bars and work on an exchange basis? And as already asked, what what of price are we talking for a set of his bars?

No he doesn't modify the originals, I have a pic of some in my thread if you want to see them.

Probably best to ask him about pricing though, as he makes them..

Dave's Tie bars are top quality:

The expense is in the material used and the quality of welding. Buy cheap ones if you want but they are likely to not last long. Not heard of one failure with Daves bars.

You'd have to PM him for a price as I bought mine a while ago.

I'm not sure mate mine come as a kit originally from Amd complete with discs and carriers.... The only problem I had was that my wheels wouldn't go back on so I had to get some spacers machined up at a local engineering firm.... Prawns probably the best person to ask... Cos at the time he seemed to know a lot about mine.... Westy also has Porsche calipers as well.... Inbox either of them mate.....Mine are slightly different they are the older 2 piece ones of a 993 I think...

S3 dave charges £195 to your door hence me saying if them other people can beat that price I will have them but I don't see them matching that as that's a fair price so I'm going with s3 Dave. will let you all know what I think off them but judging by the pic he sent me they are very well made!! Anyway fitted the Coilys yesterday (didn't have time to do them the other day) and I have got to say the spacers are a must as the 18's looked lost in the arches! Fitted FK hub centric spacers to bring them out a little (15mm front and 20mm rear) and now the s3 has some nice stance. Was a little worried about the camber on the rear as from what I have read on here you get massive camber as soon as you lower them a little....well that said I think I was worried over feck all as the camber is not like a old beetle!! Yes I have camber but not as much as people state you get, the tie bars are still a must IMO but that's because I can't stand stupid camber angles some people run. Pics will be coming as soon as I have the chance to force my brother to post them for me! Lol
