Evening gents.

Just want a little bit of advice.

Whats the best way of removing a inlet mani on a s3 without getting crap in the chambers? Seen a few threads on other forums lately where people have removed the inlet and had debris drop into the chambers/onto the valves, i dont fancy this happening.

Cheers :).

I knew someone was would say but i expect westy or karl lol.

Ive tried to clean around the manifold area but its such a pain i gave up, i tried using wd40 and a brush but it didnt do anything.

Whats the best way or cleaning that area?

Is it best to do with injectors off? With them on its such a task even trying to spray cleaner around their.

taking the injectors off would kinda defeat the object of what you are trying to achieve wouldn't though mate :)

The injectors need cleaning typically too as the seals leak and oil builds up around it along with all the crud..

You want it nice and clean like mine lol

Dont worry about that, the ild crudy manis coming off for my new toy :). I mean cleaning the head area mate, around the face of the head and the mani, mine seems to be covered in crud, thats what im scared of dropping into the chambers.

i stuffed mine with tissue (unsused), there was little bits of gunk that did get in the inlets, but its just dirt, so it will burn up so its nothing to worry about.
you need a powerful degreaser and some stiff brushes.

ya cant even see down there anyway, stop being a fanny! (no offence tuffty)

Load the ports up with lint free cloths. I did this after learning the hard way when the discs on the injectors broke up on removal (mega brittle) and fell into the port. I was getting all the bits out with a screwdriver covered in blu tack. Luckily I got it all...

Sorry guys, im wanting to remove the inlet totaly but around mine its filthy so as soon as i remove it the craps going to drop down into the chambers as theyll be exposed with the inlet off or do you think itll be fine to just whip it off.
