I have had this for a couple of weeks now, bit of a rough start as a coil pack started to fail after the first week and was making it miss over 4k, then the coil pack went over the weekend. got if fixed now and all is good. Wile it was sat there waiting for its coil pack, i also found 2 boost leaks on the old silicone hosing from the turbo.

So bumpy start but now the car runs spot on! i cant believe how much i like it! Thanks to Ryan for selling it to me (by the way you number plates are in the post).

I would just like to say i have been well impressed with the amount of information this fourm contains, so far i have found just about everything i need and not had to ask any questions. 1 post i was really cheffed was one that was done by Tuffty, and it was how to find which coil pack had gone.

Any way you have probably seen it before but here are some pics.

That looks wicked, what paint code isit? Also don't grille me all at one but what's MTM?

I drive a golf you see lol

That's a cracking S3 you've got there, Phil! Glad you've sorted the little teething troubles that come with most cars, now you can go out and enjoy it. Love Frankie BTW, he's SOO cute, lol! xx

Very nice car mate, only issues ive ever had with that car is where the parking sensors are, please move them to where they should be :).

i think mtm is a tuning company so limited amount done? feel free to correct me if im wrong

As far as I was reasured they only sold the MTM 345bhp spec in the uk but the remap that comes with it is down as a 330bhp remap on the invoice by qst the uk dealer :)

Cheers for all the replies!

Dani b19 - autho at first i really liked the parking sensors, i can confirm they will be going when i get back off holiday. I have a rear view camera comming and i am going to install that somewhere stelth!!

Paulie - cheers for the comment on frankie she is a cracker!!

MTM is a tuning company yes, the claimed out put of the car is 345bhp. I do have it booked in to go and be rolling roaded at Alan Jefferys to see how close the car is running to 345bhp, It should be close cos it go really well but we will see.

Thanks guys for all the comments

Welcome to S3 ownership Phil, los a great car you have and in the bst colour too. If your going to Alan Jefferies be carefull, not been myself in fairness so its only heresay but three friends have and were distinctly unimpressed.

Also one thing worth noting which a lot of people/tuners don't know if their not familiar with the haldex system is to dyno it in front wheel drive with the haldex fuse pulled out otherwise graph and car will be and look confused ;)

Westy - There is no graph with the car, so i assume not? He was planning on getting one done but i had the car off him to quick, for him to get it done. Once i get one done i will post it up, autho the car does feel really fast i would just like to see it for my self, and try and get a true reading.

nige (sportquattro) - Definatelly the best colour!!lol! interesting what you say about alan jeffs, i personally have always been impressed with the service, but i used them a couple of years ago now? so we will see, i will give feed back once i have been. If i have no joy do you know of anyone else in the south west?

Stacys3 - Good tip i like it!! I think im going to phone them once i get back off holiday and quiz them about how much they know about the heldex, and use that as the decider to if i use them or not.

Thanks to every one for the great positive posts.

Im really loving the S3, i test drove quite a few really nice cars before buying this car, including a evo 7 and 8 and a p1, and autho these are amazing cars i just clicked with the S3. I really like the fact they just dont stand out as well, really understated car!!

Dont know anyone our way with a Dyno unfortunately, but theres Badger Bill (Badger5) Gloucester way thats a bit of a legend on here and comes highly rated by everyone. For servicing and stuff can recommend the Audi VW Centre in Exeter, very knowledgeable and much bettter than the dealerships. Nige

Hunn just checked where he is and im thinking im going to go see him. Next time im at castle combe i think ill go see him. ill also check out the audi vw centre. Cheers nige

Bill is definately a worthwhile visit there isn't many places that'll log and check the health/running of your car when they dyno it to the extent he does

Also he's got first hand experience with these kits as mines been to him a fee times ;)

Theres AP motors (now called Ak motors) in Plymton.. They have rollers.
Also Rk engineering In St agnes have a 2wd roller (They are also VAG specialists)
Volkscraft in Exeter are a very knowlegable bunch.. Also the local Revo dealer.
Never heared of Audi Vw centre though.

Lovely looking car mate.

Welcome to the team.

Love this car, some serious money been spent here.

The thing that surprised me the most, was the brakes. Its gOt the typical Mtm 345mm Porsche fronts, but it also has Porsche 4 pots on the rear!

Thanks for all the replies guys, loads of really usefull info!!

Stacy - Im definatelly now thinking badger will be the route i will take! sounds exactly like what im looking for! Will be good to get him to do a general look over the car. I dont mind traveling if the service i get is quality.

Mr csw - thanks for the info.

Prawn - glad you like the brakes! they are amazing like seirouslly, they pull the skin off you face when stopping.

Badger - looks like i will be giving you a call once i get back from holiday, to book my car in.:o.k:

Thanks again

Welcome to the Moneypit Club mate.... Although it sounds and looks like it was someone else's moneypit....lol

Its a bit like it!! i brought this one thinking it will be ok for a bit, but over the last week or so i have found SO much more to buy!!! But then i dont drink or smoke so i gotta spend my money on something, autho i think its would be cheaper to start drinking and smoking!!lol

Volkscraft in Exeter are awesome mate, Mat really knows his stuff! Theres a garage in Tipton just outside Exeter that specialise in motorsport and they have a good set of rollers there, they're nice lads too and know what they're on about. Defo skip Alan Jefferies, wouldn't trust him to tune my piano

Throw some pics up of the engine/brakes, id like to see them bad boys, also welcome.

Dan

Here are some pics of the breaks!

And the rears are the same.

Here is a pic of the engine bay when i first got it, once the engine cover was removed i found a few issues with some of the pipes.
audipics167.jpg

so i replaced what needed replacing straight away, and i have ordered all new hoses that im waiting for now. Had a bit of a tidy up as well.

The front disc is a 993 turbo with a custom bell. If you want new ones you need to make sure you order the 2 piece discs or you are going to be a little upset trying to get them apart about, the best price you will get in these will be euro car parts :)

with out a pic of the rears I can't tell you if there are and cheap ways round those. What ever you do don't lose the bells :)

Best of luck with the car hope you enjoy it here.

rears are a different caliper on yours Phil, not sure what but they're much smaller. More than likely porsche rears of some description

Cheers for the replies, Ill get some pics of the rears for you, Prawn you are right in what you say the rear calipers are slightly different, but the disks are the same size as the fronts, and the rear calipers are 4pots as well.

I have been pulling the front lights apart today and black masked them! ill get pics up in a bit.
