Hi all,

Does anyone know what their 0-60 mph time is after Revo on an S3 8p with dsg?

Actually it would be interesting to know times for manuals too...

Thanks

Makes sense Matt!

Thanks for your replies... Just so you know, I took the plunge and have gone to Revo stage 1 on my '09 DSG S3. All i can say is the car is blisteringly quick now.

To be honest 60mph feels like it comes up so much faster than 4.9 - 5.0. The car is superb and so much better to drive. If you havent had yours mapped, do it immediately. You will have no regrets.

The only problem is that I am now tempted to go to Stage 2.

Big shout out ot Mark of MDM Technik for carrying out the work and to you guys for your posts.

yes, they are pretty quick once remaped. and if you plan to go further then get a whole lot and gi stage2+, as you allready have DSG and won't have clutch issues :D

S. I would love to go to Stage 2+ but I think my main worry is the cost of this vs performance gains.

Am i right in saying that I would need a High pressure fuel pump, cold air intake, and a milltek TBE? If so this looks like it would cost a lot.

In terms of gains am I right to expect about 30-50 extra bhp?

Stage 2+ would give you about 100bhp over stock, but will cost about £2k+

yes but for stage2 (you need exhaust and intake for gains of 10-15bhp over stage1) and for stage 2+ (you need exhaust intake and hpfp for gains of 30-50bhp over stage1) that's why i said that it's better to go stage2+ as the difference is only in hpfp and you can sort internals for 200ish pounds. and belive me, i''ve had stage 2 and now i'm on basic stage 2+ and with hpfp power doesn't stop till the redline!! it makes such a difference.

Exactly...I think in value terms,Stg2+ is the best option by far.

Ok Stage 2+ it is... But not quite yet. I am loving Stage 1 but know that I will want to do more and more, this is damn addictive. Without doubt, the Stage 1 Revo remap is the best single mod in terms of performance I have done on any car, ever!!!

My S3 now eats every car local to me for breakfast :)

Get it done if you havent already!!!

Thanks for your replies guys.

Get used to it first.....Stg2+ does add a good bit more power and torque, but you will also need your suspension upgrading, and you may want to think about the brakes as well.

Uh oh!!!! It has started already. Not only will I be looking at £2K+ to go to Stage 2+ but will also be looking at new suspension, brakes and everything else relating to handling...

And there I was thinking that I would have a quiet summer....

PS: Don't tell the missus, she thinks I am saving.

You could go without, but you'll get a car whose engine completely overwhelms the chassis control and brakes.
I see you've had kW suspension before.....that's what I have on mine(kW v3) plus H&R antiroll bars, which made a huge difference to the handling, and for brakes I'd go to DaveB1970 now,as he has all of the likely solutions at good prices, but I chose the VWRacing kit as it was one of the best at the time.

glad you're happy!!

Man I gotta get behind the wheel one of these things. You've truly hyped this car up for me, how would it fair against 2008+ M3, normal day to day driving?

A stock S3 is not a match for an M3 on a dry road.

If it's properly wet,yes.

To match or drive away from the M3 on a dry road, you'd need Stg2+ and suspension mods.

Oh alright, I thought they were in the same ballpark. How will the suspension affect the speed of the car?

i had a go with a 2009 m3 few weeks ago on a straight road in my s3 running shark stage 1 and did it, he was trying too as we were doing it for a few miles. lets say i was shocked

What it means is that you'll have much improved chassis control and you'll be able to use the power without having to worry about ditches and hedgerows.

Thanks for all your replies people. Much appreciated. I am still loving every second behind the wheel. Revo all the way :)
