Can an engine ecu with a different part number be used on my APU engine?

I currently have a 4B0 906 018 AA but looking procuring another for some tweaking :icon_thumright:

any 1.8T ME7.1 ECU will in effect run the engine, but different cars/engine combos have different addons (say VVT or SAI or EGT sensors etc)

You can even convert to use a wideband ME7.5 ECU if you fancy, using a different lambda and some small wiring changes.

Probably best to stick with the same part number to minimise hassle though!
