custom exhausts greater manchester or tony banks leeds kinda long

As title i have searched on the forums since joining last week and for the last 2 weeks phoned god knows how many companies for quotes etc around greater manchester and as far as sheffield & birmingham, Some of the quotes are plain stupid and seriously think the exhaust fumes have something to do with it. Best quote so far is tony banks leeds which is'nt a million miles away his email is below, i did specify i wanted 3.5" tailpipes as i have the 1.9tdi with votex kit and think 4" is too big, Don't want to go the 1.8t exhaust route and have tailpipes welded on want full stainless steel.

Anyone think this is a good price or any reviews on Tony Banks would be greatly appreciated as it's doing my head in now, Had the car 4 weeks and driving round with votex rear and no tailpipes visible.

Ye been to him he knows what he's on about, He said he'd just made one for a 2.5 avant with 3.5" tailpipes, might of been you if it was around 3-5 weeks ago, He'd done his wrist in badly and was waiting to have scans all pins put in it, So my thinkning is he'll be out of the game for a while so won't be him doing my exhaust if you know what i mean and he wanted £500 for catback. used to see some mint cars outside there a few years back when they used to have the big blueflame sign on the side. Dave came off his bike a week before mine was due to be done - as I was already booked in, a lad called Paul fabricated it.
A mate of mine also had his Golf ED30 done there.
I paid around £300 less than quotes I had from others.

Sounds far too cheap for me. I would hazzard a guess that it will be on par with PowerFlow (or NoFlow as they're often reffered to). I would think you will be looking at off the shelf boxes and a system made up with compression bends as opposed to the preffered mandrel bends.

Exhausts are far more complex than a lot of people, including manufacturers, seem to realise. A proper custom system form somewhere like Hayward & Scott will be about double that but it will be an absolute work of art, made with high quality stainless steel, proper mandrel bends, individually constructed silencers and flow tested to ensure it does what it should.

I personally would be very very wary of such a cheap system

That looks a million times better than some longlife exhaust welding i've seen how much did you get it for?? if you don't mind me asking not gonna go in saying well somebody got it for such-a-price just wanna know if i've got any room to haggle lol, I get the haggling thing from going to goa twice a year everywhere i go i haggle bought a 50" samsung plasma from martin dawes the other year full hd home cinema package and stand got £480 knocked off i only know this as my mate installs for them and they have a code they put in the computer and it tells them how much their allowed to knock off sneaky gits.

Just out of curiosity, you said you dont live far from BCS, do you live more towards Liverpool?

Yep thats the one - I believe Dave used to be part of the managment of blueflame - for whatever reason they decided to split, dave then formed BCS along with Nige. (if I remember correctly)
