Hi all,

I currently drive an 57 A3 1.8tfsi S-line, but I'm hankering after a DTM and really need 4 doors...

Is it worth spending the extra on the DTM over and s-line?

Anything to look out for/concerns about the 2.0tfsi?

I have researched brut not found too much info!

All help appreciated..

Harm

I wanted a dtm, but bought the special edition s line. Cheaper same power, full leather as apose to half leather and suede recaros. The price swayed me. But if you want 1 of very few dtm's it's worth it. If not bothered, save some money and get the special edition.
Mine may be forsale if you interested. Pm me and I'll send ya some pics :)

As Craig says depends if you want to own a rare car I guess. The problem with the dtm's is most people haven't got a clue what one is but I love mine

I think the main thing is like all Audi's is getting yourself clued up on the extras and options list. I have a DTM and loved the Sprint blue, Recaros, carbon etc plus the bodykit. However my mate has a niceley specced s-line special edition which had pearl paint, full leather with memory seats, auto wipers etc etc so its really about finding the car.

My personal list of "cant live without" includes things like Bose, Dark headlining, heated seats, colour Dis (so a sat nav retrofit looks factory) etc etc but i know many who arent bothered about things like headlining and Bose? so best i can say is look at a few cars and see what takes your fancy? you can afford to be fussy in this market and make sure you get a good un :)

I was hankering after a DTM last year, but at the time i didn't find any with less than about 60k on the clock. Decided to look at S Line Quattro SE's as an alternative, and as said in the posts above, with careful spec selection they are alomost the same. And cheaper.

I still want that front bumper and carbon trim tho!!

Thanks for the advice!

As above it's difficult to find one with decent lowish mileage and at a decent price.

Have been looking at s-line's too, but just love the fact the DTM is a bit rarer and the carbon:hubbahubba:

Just need to sell the A3 now! Will be hanging around here trying to pick as much info as poss.

Thanks for all the advice!

What's your budget? I'm thinking of selling mine to find an s4 but unsure

Don't really have a budget set as such but ideally £11k but I also have my heart set on a blue one!

Thanks for the offer though...

I've got a Sprint DTM, bought her last April. I'm really glad I went for a DTM over a late sline as although they are the same underneath, cosmetically it's much nicer.

If you can afford the little extra you pay, then it is worth it. I am going to see my mum this weekend, who has an sline. I can take some pictures of them together for you if that helps.

Hi People sorry to but in but im thinking of selling my DTM Sprint blue 55 Thousand miles - just putting some feelers out

Only thinking of selling due to new house/mortgage

Any comments welcome

Cheers

James

I got my blue dtm with 96k on the clock for £8200 cheapest ive seen before and after buying but they are out there ;)

I've just bought myself a 2005 DTM, 85k full Audi service history for......... £7,250 :icon_thumright:

Carbon trim was an option, so it can be found... :)

I've never seen an S Line with carbon before, that is indeed a rare treat! Did yours come with all that kit from the dealer? Must keep an eye out on ebay......

Bargain...I saw it on P/H and autotrader but just didn't have all the cash available as I need to sell my a3.

Hope you're happy with it!

Yea its in really good nick, will look much better after a good clean this weekend! It was between the DTM or this AudiSRS.com :: 470+ bhp B5 S4 Saloon high spec only 77k on clock!. I decided to go for the sensible option in the end........ just

There are a few reviews on the DTM if you google it, heres a few:

I've only owned the car for a few days but first impressions are good but its not quick by any means. The DTM front splitter, rear arches, carbon spoiler and defuser really make it stand out. The carbon interior is a nice touch too. It should keep me tied over until I can afford an RS4!

Interstingly I discoverd last year when looking at DTMs vs S Lines that the DTMs are assembled in by Quattro GmBh in their own plant, the same factory that makes all the S and RS models. Similar to AMG for Mercs. Don't know if it makes any actual difference but adds a certain kudos!

And the last run of S Line SE's were strangely also made in the same Quattro GmBh factory as well. You can identify by looking at the vin plate in the engine bay.

Useless fact of the day there!

I wonder if it's a timing thing and if it's because they dismantled the A4 B7 production line to send to Spain for them to build the SEAT Exeos?

SEAT Exeo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To this purpose, the entire Audi B7 A4 production and assembly lines from Ingolstadt were dismantled and installed in Volkswagen Group's related SEAT factory in Martorell, Spain.[SUP][1][/SUP]

Rear Arches ?

Should have said bumper. I was referring to the vents behind the wheels:
