As some of you may know I won a AH Fabs intercooler off eBay,http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-forum-8l-chassis/154467-woohoo-look-what-i-just-won-guys.html I paid £340 which I thought was a bargain as it comes with all clamps pipes and fixings. Its been over 3 weeks now and I haven't received it and I've started a case with eBay but had no contact with the seller apart from when I paid when I phoned him to confirm payment.The most annoying thing is he is a member on here (jansa3turbo) and wont answer my E-mails. So now I have no intercooler and no money ****** me off :gun2:

Chris.

****er! that's **** if your right. Hopefully he's on holiday and all will be well, Can you not reclaim via PayPal ??

Like damo said mate... thats S***
Hope it works out dude - yeh open a case with paypal rather than ebay

Yeah I have opened one with eBay damo which I think is through Paypal as I only pay that was because of problems like this. Just does my head in as if he didnt want to sell it why put it on there. I hope he is on holiday he seemed really pleasant when I spoke on the phone, just states postage in 3 days not 3+ weeks for delivery.

That the fella?

Last activity according to his profile was 2 weeks ago and that was his last post... could be on holiday...

<tuffty/>

I have a feeling he's trying to sell it for more and doesn't want to sell it to you as you won it on the 4th and he posted that thread asking for £450 2 days later on the 6th.

EDIT: Scrap that, just realised he posted that thread on the 6th march not april.........Maybe he is just on holiday but you should take that into account when selling on ebay.

Have you been in contact with jansa3turbo through ASN? I have closed the classifieds thread for now...

<tuffty/>

That's almost as much as a V2. Not that it helps matters.

If it helps, PayPal often favour the buyer in situations like this...

Hi Paul Iv emailed him and gone through the eBay messages but he's never online on here I have just left a message on his ASN profile page though.

Hi sam I have been in contact with PayPal I have to wait to escalate the claim till the 28th.

The member is now online so hope it all gets sorted out

Cheers Darren think it was a flying visit I just checked and he is off now,

If he didn't want to sell it at the price I won it he should have put a reserve on silly really as now he will end up booted of eBay or have a strike against him not that he will probably be bothered.

Be aware though guys don't buy off jansa3turbo off here it's not worth the risk.

Thanks, Chris.

Hi guys bit of an update, just had an email from Paypal a refund has been started and should process by 2nd of may. Just wondering if he has seen this thread and its made him rethink his actions so thanks for the support good old ASN il let you know when its complete and I have the funds, they wont be there long as I have my eyes on a badger5 tip :)

Thanks, Chris.

Only just seen this thread Chris. That's a right pain, glad you're gonne get the money back. Just get yourself a nice Welly cooler and fit it upside down if you're desperate to keep the fogs. It'll still work out cheaper ;)

Good news, hope he can explain his actions. I also hope he wasn't trying to rip you off mate

Cheers Neil yeah it was a pain just annoys me dishonest people im interested in the Welly cooler now i built myself up for that one think il go B5 tip and map first then save for another cooler.

Good news, hope he can explain his actions. I also hope he wasn't trying to rip you off mate

cheers Hoggy, I have tried to contact him by landline, mobile, eBay, his own email and even on ASN but nothing. Im thinking he has read this and got a guilt trip or worried what other genuine ASN members will think of him.

Cheers, Chris.

Had an Email from him tonight said hes had bad family news and been away and that the intercooler has been accidentally damaged and is beyond economical repair and he has refunded me soon as he saw my messages he sounded genuine so I think I may have got a bit over stressed about it, just that its happened before and I was worried that it was going to happen again.

I hope its a genuine Email as Iv never had a bad word to say about anybody on this forum so hopefully it was just a misunderstanding that can be forgot about

editing done lol.

Chris.

Can these be fitted upside down with silicone reducers, or do they have to be ally welded 90 degree bends put in?

See the FMIC thread in the stickies... all the info there...

<tuffty/>

I've read the stickies all the way through and saw the job you did on the welly cooler. Was actually going to ask if you might accept delivery of a cooler and ally weld some pipes on for me as it looked so good!

However, is it possible to use silicone instead to save hassle? Not seen anyone mount upside down and use silicone pipes.

Give Bill a call, I am sure he would do it although I suspect he would prefer to do it with the car there as he doesn't jig these things up... they are made to the car...

I think Bill tried silicon but found it tight or something... no reason why you couldn't offer it up and try it... should be able to see it visually but couldn't say for sure without seeing it on the car really...

Hi guys, cheers to those of you not thinking the worst of me over this, is was a genuine bad sequence of events my end, didn't even realise poor Chris was annoyed and still waiting as whilst I was away dealing with something I trusted the cooler delivery was being taken care of but it wasn't. Instead, I'm now down a cooler and the money! :-( Puts the plan of getting a v2 out the window now as the money from the v1 was going towards it :-(
Will keep my eyes peeled for any good deals and forward them onto you Chris as I know you're mega gutted too.
Regards,

That's really good of you to come here and explain what happened. I think 9 times out of 10 things like this can be accounted for but Chris has had a bad track record lol.

As said, appreciated you took the time to come on and explain. :thumbsup:

Cheers guys, comments appreciated :)
Cooler isn't worth the attention now. Scrapped.
On a positive note I have just bought VCDS! (overdraft retail therapy?) if any body needs assistance I'll gladly help, as soon as I work out how to use it properly!

Hi Jan thanks for getting back to me and clearing this up, I'm now happy with our communication and it ended up being a bit of a misunderstanding, as Westy said im rather unfortunate with things which makes me fear the worst, so I do stress myself out at times lol. It was a unfortunate for you with what happened with the intercooler being damaged, I am gutted as well as I was looking forward to fitting it, as it was a good buy and Iv been looking for ages.

Thanks for coming on here and explaining and I hope I havent offended you with anything I've wrote on here, I was just venting stress as I had not heard from you for so long and thinking the worst, hence my name Mr Unlucky lol.

Also yes that would be great if you do come across any good finds, as im always interested and maybe I will bump into you at one of the main events this year we can buy each other a beer :beerchug: I hope everything is okay after you said about your bad news, and again thanks for sorting this out.

Thanks to everybody on here for the help and advice given to me as you all know I am Mr unluckily.

Peace out Chris.

Glad you got this sorted Chris, and as said nice one Jan for doing the right thing clearing things up.
Things can often go wrong and peeps will always jump to the worst conclusion... human nature I guess, as for the chap that dropped the cooler he should be buying the beers :slapped:

Glad all this got cleared up. gotta take my hat off to all the ASN member's its good to know what a great site this is and all members can be trusted and everyones got each others backs :icon_thumright:
