187BHP 2.0TDI Engine?

I'm away visiting the missus family for a few days and I noticed one the family members has a 2005 A3 sport sport back, i wanted to work out engine it had as it was debadged so I put the reg into the 'mycarcheck' app and it's telling my it's a 2.0TDI 187.7 bhp engine

I've never seen these before are they particularly rare?

Theres no such engine. Not a 2.0 TDI anyway

A mate's got a BKD which is chip tuned to 187 bhp.

Maybe he tuned it and "did the right thing"

I did this to a silver 8P 2.0tdi car near me and saw it said the same. just put it down to error.

Must be an error as it also the says the 0-60 is 9.7 seconds!

check the tail pipes, if they are facing out then its 170, if they aim down then 140.

As above, thats the only 2 2.0 tdi variants produced for the 8P

Must be an error with the my car check people maybe? either that or he has had it remapped and registered the quoted bhp output with the DVLAssholes

yes they do i have one 2.0tdi sportline 187.7 bhp goes like s off a shovel

mine comes up at 187.5bhp on my car check. its only a 140bhp

you'd know if it was 190bhp, its either 140/170. they simply didnt do a 187.7!

Mates 2005 TDI 140 comes up the same.

Mine came up wrong when I bought mine also. Database error, had it a few times on different cars and vans... It really doesn't work very well!
