Facelift 2012 A4 Avant 2.0TDI Quattro 177PS Black Edition> Delivery time?

Got mine yesterday, and all I can say is it was worth the wait ... :kissmyrings:

Stressfull week - nearly didn't get it yesterday - long story short - I had a company do proper new car prep @ Audi last Sat, and they managed to lock both keys (with valet key & key code) in car (don't ask)!
Didn't look good until Ops Director from Audi UK got involved - had locksmith try and get into car for 2 days - failed - and only had spare valet key arrive from Germany yesterday morning (which originally was on 3 week back order)

Phoned me 15 minutes later than planned handover - hats off to Audi for getting it resolved - when it wasn't really their mistake

Will try all the toys over the weekend - and try take a decent photo or 2 - but I love everthing so far - adaptive cruise control is brilliant!

What spec

Something amusing for all of us still waiting, waiting, waiting for our car......today I received the Audi Magazine Spring Edition...the accompanying letter states...and I quote...."as an Audi performance driver".....clearly the marketing department thinks they build them quicker than they do.......!!!!!

It's the Daytona Grey pics above...

2.0 TFSI Quattro S tronic BE with Nappa leather, Tech pack High, Audi drive select with damper control, Parking advanced, Adaptive cruise control, Adaptive headlights, High-beam assist, Folding&dimming mirrors, Heated seats & Interior light pack - and the kitchen sink... I didn't think my better half would let me get away with adding anything else...

So far I definitely prefer petrol over my last diesel A4

Nice car, nice spec but what do you think of the s tronic? My new S4 will have it and I'm still hoping that I can get on with it (always had a manual). How does it tie in with the drive select ? The one I test drove didn't have drive select so you basically had the choice of auto, sport and manual directly from the gear selector.

Sorry for all of the questions, enjoy your weekend driving!

My father just ordered his A3 (not the new shape) which is going to take 3 months. Whilst he was at the garage, the rep had to contact a woman to advise that her Q5 wasn't going to be ready until 2013!!!!

New A4 look nice. Any pics of the inside?

Hi, Update.
I visited my dealership for an update yesterday and was told that my build had been pushed back from week 22 to week 27. I was obviously disappointed and asked for a reason why this had happened and got no clear explanation. I was told it could be down to the colour or any of the other options on the car...
I asked for a solution to be found, even buying a totally different spec or model, .i.e A5/A6...
This morning I got an email from my dealer stating they could sell me an A4 2.0TDI 177 Avant Quattro Black Edition in Daytona Grey Pearl Effect with Tech Pack High which is being built THIS WEEK. I don't get my favourite colour, the tyre pressure monitor or the rear airbags options. I visited my dealership again to check out this colour and it looks good. I have accepted to buy this one rather than my factory order. I get the Tech Pack High rather than the Tech Pack Low so there is a little plus in there too :). The car is due to be delivered in the first week of April. I prefer the Moonlight Blue colour but was not ready to wait an extra 4 to 5 months just for that. FYI, I was told that the reason for the delay on my order was the rear airbags option, so do not order this if you do not have it as a "must have" in your spec! Only 3/4 weeks to wait now .

My car is being built this week............in theory...........and hopefully in practice.....

My car is built. And in the UK. Sadly, I am not. So wont get it until next weekend. Boooooooo.

Your dealer should be able to confirm whether your car build is in progress. It's the stage after "confirmed build week": Key stage 3: "In production/production complete".

I will follow up with dealer on Friday..........given that by then it will have been 17 weeks since order the positive is that the elapsed time has to be greater than that left!!!!!:rockwoot:

Picked mine up 1st March 2.0 TFSI QUATTRO BLACK EDITION S.TRONIC LAVA GREY

Stick some photos on when you get the chance, I'm getting a Lave grey Avant next month. What do you think of the S-tronic?

Nearly done 1000 miles in my A4 2.0 TFSI with S-tronic now and I'm a big fan. Finding "S" mode a bit addictive though, which is not that friendly on MPG! It gives a nice little blip of throttle when changing down through the gears and sharpens things up. Very smooth changes and I don't find the lag with kick-down too bad at all. My first auto and I'll never go back to manual with this type of car, life in stop-start traffic is nice and easy these days :icon_thumright:

Thanks for that, this will be my first auto and I'm still a bit sceptical.

Had my 2.0 TFSI Quattro BE also since 1 March, and too be honest can't decide on the S-tronic.
If you drive it hard - perfect, but in your normal day to day driving I find that it tends to gear up sooner than I would've liked - keeping the revs low. I know that it's probably for efficiency, but when you get an irritating drone/resonance/vibration (@ about 1000 - 1200 rpm in higher gears), it takes some of the enjoyment out of driving.
Don't know if it's normal - if it will improve over time - or if I'm just being picky, but will probably have dealer check it out

My revised spec car was built this week and is awaiting shipment. Dealer reckons I should take delivery by the end of the month. Strange what can happen with Audi when you change the spec/order!

Pick mine up today. Will be washing / polishing tomorrow and getting some pics up. Woo hoo.

My R32 does that in drive...heads for the highest gear as soon as possible......I either leave in sport or shift to paddle....

Dealer told me Yesterday that car now in UK. Will know on Tuesday if will be available for collection by Saturday or the following week.....:racer:...........that would be 19 weeks from order........but who is counting.......:rockwoot:

Got mine yesterday. Ordered about mid January.

Hi. My car has been sitting at a port in Germany for the past 10 days. Waiting for shipment to UK. Should get an update from dealer today.
xs2man, very nice car!

Hi. I didn't get an update as expected last week so I called my dealer today. It turns out the car is at the dealership and I am collecting this Thursday. Nice!

Collected my new A4 Avant BE quattro today! What a car! Feels like a quantum leap moving from a 12 year old 1.0E VW Polo to this.
Will post pics soon... I don't regret the colour change from Moonlight Blue to Daytona Grey Pearl to get the car 4-5 months earlier! Great colour.

Surely your car should be available soon, it has been in the UK for about 10 days hasn't it? I would give your dealer a call. You should be in it by now. The louder you shout with Audi the better service you get IMHO. Hope you get it soon!

Yup....but the compensatory freebies are adding up........get a further update tomorrow.....

Picked up.......awesome.........cannot wait to run in the tyres.....and leaden my right foot afterwards..
Nice! I bet you're pleased. Remind me which model you have please. I know I owe you some photos but been driving so mucha I haven't had time. Bad news for me is that Audi damaged the paintwork (slightly) when debadging the car but have offered to put it right at no cost (re-badge, respray, etc....) It's very small but enough to be P'd off with Audi! I also have the driver side door handle not fitted correctly as well as the steering wheel off centre (need to steer slightly to the right to go in a straight line)... The car is going in tomorrow to have all this put right and have a full Valet inside and out! Photos will come after this.

Another update on my car... I seem to get a very low mpg??? I have the 2.0 TDI 177PS and get 33mpg combined with lots of motorway miles on cruise control and the national speed limit. Audi claim 53.3 mpg combined...don't know whether this is just the first tank....
This is way off the mark. Could anybody share their experience? xs2man, is this what you get? I think you have the same model?

My 2.0 TDi 170ps a3 has a claimed 54mpg yet I struggle to get over 40 doing mixed driving. Cruise will take a few mpg off so try cruising at 60-65 on the motorway as when I do this i can get up to 10mpg extra

my 2009 170 tdi has done 32 to the gallon since i had it.Mixed driving slow driving, you name it ive tried it.The dis lies massively to.Takes the **** by showing 54mpg on a run, but i get the bong dead on 420 miles to refuel.

Get my Lava S4 BE avant tomorrow, can't wait. Did you get the diff and drive select? if so does the DS make a bike difference to the gearbox (holding gears etc...)

Yup. Diff and drive select amongst other things. Been driving in efficiency, auto, comfort and dynamic and you notice the differences especially in gear changes....in efficiency it races even faster to the highest gear possible and doesn't really accelerate......also I think it turns off the air con....whereas in dynamic............have yet to mess about with individual......that is for the weekend and completion of running in the tyres....

This thread needs way more pics if you ask me!

Im trying to decide on colour so any of your pics would be very useful!
